CAREER: Played all four years on campus as he did not redshirt as a true freshman in 2017... Played his first 38 games as a reserve but started all 10 games during his senior campaign.
2020: Started all 10 games – the first starts of his career – as he earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors from the Associated Press and honorable mention accolades from the league’s coaches... Finished with career highs in tackles (24), tackles for loss (9.0), sacks (4.5) and passes defended (3)... Tied for 10th in the Big 12 in sacks and 14th in TFLs... Tallied the most TFLs and sacks by a Wildcat interior defensive lineman since 2017... Set a career high with seven tackles at West Virginia, the most by a Wildcat interior defensive lineman in a game since 2016... Also set a career high with 2.5 TFLs against the Mountaineers, the most by a Wildcat interior defensive lineman since 2017... Batted away two passes against Kansas... 2019: Played in all 13 games as part of the regular rotation at defensive tackle... Made a career-high 16 tackles to go along with his first two career tackles for loss and a pass breakup... 2018: Saw time in every game on short-yardage plays and on field goal defense... Made two tackles, one against Mississippi State and one against Oklahoma State... Earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors.
2017: Played in all 13 games, primarily in short-yardage situations and on special teams... Registered three tackles on the year, including a season-best two against Charlotte.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letterwinner at Vinton-Shellsburg under head coach Jim Womochil... Earned First Team All-Class 3A honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association as a senior in 2016, while he was a second-team pick as a junior... A three-time all-district pick, including his senior campaign when he was named the district defensive player of the year... Also earned a spot on the Cedar Rapids Gazette All-Area team during his final campaign...
