- Attended Jenks High School in Jenks, Okla.
- Competed in cross country, track and field 800m, 4x400m, 4x800m relay and DMR, as well as soccer.
- Member of three Oklahoma Class 6A State Championship teams at Jenks, including two in track and field (2021, 2022) and on in cross country (2021).
- Finished 23rd at the 2021 Class 6A State Cross Country Championship with a time of 19:45.9.
- Helped break the Oklahoma high school record in the 4x800m relay, as the quartet won the Class 6A state title for the second year in a row with a time of 9:12.04 in May 2022.
- In all, finished in the top-10 in three events (800m, 4x400m and 4x800m relays) at the 2022 Oklahoma Class 6A State Championship, including state titles in the 4x400m relay (3:53.64) and 4x800m relay (9:12.04) and 10th place in the 800m (2:18:02).
- Was part of a DMR team that posted a 2nd-place time of 11:54.10 at the Texas Clyde Littlefield Relays, which ranked 9th nationally.
- Selected as the 2021 Newcomer of the Year as well as winning the Outstanding Mid-Distance Award at Jenks.
- Helped Jenks win the 2021 Class 6A state title after placing first in the 4x800m relay and finishing 4th in the 800m and 4x400m relay.
- As a soccer player was named a 2018 ‘Player To Watch’ at Club TSC Hurricane.
- Member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL
- Sophie Elaine Simmons was born October 16, 2003, in Jenks, Okla.
- Daughter of Liza and Ray Simmons.
- Parents are both University of Oklahoma alumni.
- Recruited by Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Tulsa, along with K-State, out of high school.
- Verbally committed to Oklahoma State for soccer in the eighth grade before opting to follow a path with track and field and cross country.
