2020 Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year watch list

CAREER: Played in 25 career games with 15 starts with each start coming in the final two years he saw the field... Was in line to start as a senior in 2019 prior to suffering a season-ending injury toward the end of spring practices... Earned a medical hardship and was granted an extra year of eligibility for 2020.

2020: Started all eight games played, finishing second on the team with 45 tackles... Also added 2.0 tackles for loss and a pass breakup... Tallied a season-high 10 tackles in K-State’s win at No. 3 Oklahoma, just one shy of equaling his career high... Had tackles for loss in his final two collegiate games, against Oklahoma State and Texas... Broke up a pass against Arkansas State in his first start in 658 days dating back to the 2018 season finale... Voted a team captain... Named to the watch list for the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year award.

2019: Sat out the 2019 season due to a season-ending injury sustained in spring practices... Earned a medical hardship for the year.
 
2018: Played in 11 games with starts in each of the last seven contests... Finished third on the team with 56 tackles to go along with 7.0 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery... His 7.0 TFLs ranked third on the squad, while he ranked fourth in the Big 12 with his two forced fumbles... Came off the bench during the Texas game to record six tackles and a TFL before starting the rest of the season... Set a career high with 11 tackles and forced a fumble at Baylor... Had eight tackles against Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech... Set a career high with 3.0 TFLs against Kansas... Also forced a fumble against the Jayhawks and recovered one against Texas Tech.

2017: Saw action in six games as both a reserve linebacker and on special teams... Recorded four tackles, including a career-high three stops against Central Arkansas... Also made a tackle against UCLA in the Cactus Bowl.

2016: Did not see any game action.
 
2015: Redshirted.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Tucker under head coach Bryan Lamar... Helped the Tigers earn a 14-1 record and a trip to the state championship game as a senior in 2013... Named a first team all-state honoree in 2013 by the Georgia Sportswriters, while he was an All-DeKalb County pick by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution... Was rated as the nation’s 70th-best outside linebacker by ESPN in 2014... Selected to play in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game... Totaled over 180 tackles over his junior and senior seasons.
