Athlete Q&A
How is rowing different than other sports you've been involved in?
Rowing is much different than anything I have experienced. It is much more physically demanding than anything I have ever experienced. You have to work so hard, but you also have to be graceful in a sense so you can set the boat and match the people around you.
What keeps you coming back to the team each year?
The reason I come back to the team is because the coaching staff is great, my teammates are the best people to be around and rowing grows on you. It's really hard, but I love it.
What was it like to walk on to the team?
Walking on to the team, I was very nervous. I knew nothing about rowing and the coaches knew nothing about me. It was much harder than I expected, but somewhere things started to click, and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.
