MANHATTAN, Kan. – Coming off of its first tournament win since 2012, the Kansas State men's golf team looks to continue it spring success on Saturday and Sunday in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate being played at the par-72, 7,242-yard UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
The first 36 holes will begin Saturday morning with an 8:30 a.m. (ET) shotgun start, while Sunday's final round will consist of tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
The Wildcats carded an impressive 16-under par 848 at last weekend's Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, resulting in K-State's first team victory under head coach Grant Robbins.
Senior Jeremy Gandon, who tallied an 8-under par 208, claimed the individual title at last week's Mission Inn Spring Spectacular. The title was Gandon's fourth career victory, leaving him one short of Robert Sedorcek's school record of five.
"We are excited to get back at it this weekend in North Carolina," Robbins said. "It will be a strong field and a great opportunity for us. The guys are playing with confidence, and it's a golf course that sets up for our team pretty well."
Gandon takes over the No. 1 slot in the K-State lineup and is followed by senior Roland Massimino, juniors Jacob Eklund and Ben Fernandez, and senior JC Campbell.
Joining K-State in North Carolina will be Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, No 24 Illinois, James Madison, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, No. 30 North Carolina, No. 13 North Florida, Notre Dame, UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington.
