MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State (10-2) has registered its best start to a season through 12 games since the 2016-17 season and will begin Big 12 action on Sunday in Bramlage Coliseum against (10/10) Baylor at 1 p.m.

• With a win on Sunday, K-State would tie for the longest home court winning streak under the direction of head coach Jeff Mittie (9 - 2014-15). 
• Sunday's game will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play), Missy Heidrick (analyst) and Katherine Benhardt (sideline) will have the call.
• K-State has achieved its 10-win start with unselfish play, as the Wildcats lead the nation in assist to turnover ratio (1.68) and rank sixth for total assists (232).
• The Wildcats have been led this season by junior Ayoka Lee and freshman Serena Sundell. Lee, a center from Byron, Minnesota, is second in the nation for total points scored (285) and is fourth in the nation in scoring average (23.8 ppg). She also leads the nation in field goals made (118), blocked shots (48) and blocks per game (4.0) and is 11th in total rebounds (133) and 13th in rebounds per game (11.1 rpg).
• Sundell is second on the team in scoring (10.1 ppg). She is second in the Big 12 in total assists (61), third in assists per game (5.1) and third in assist to turnover ratio (2.90).

1. Familiar Foe to Open Big 12 Action
• K-State and Baylor will face off in the league opener for the fourth time in nine seasons. The Wildcats have faced either Baylor or Iowa State to open a Big 12 season in eight of the last nine seasons. 
2. Lee with 20-10-4 Stat Line
Ayoka Lee, is currently the only player in the nation averaging 20+ points, 10+ rebounds and 4+ blocks this season. Lee has three games this season with at least a 20 and 10 double-double with four or more blocks.
3. K-State Freshmen Collecting Big 12 Weekly Honor
Brylee Glenn and Serena Sundell have caught the attention of the Big 12 Conference, as the duo have earned four Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors this season. The pair alternated winning the award from Nov. 29 to Dec. 27.
4. Happy Helpers
• K-State is averaging 19.3 assists per game this season and rank second in the Big 12 and sixth in the nation in the category. The Wildcats have seven players with 15 or more assists this season, including four with 25 or more.

• K-State has held its opponents to 54.1 points per game, a .335 field goal percentage and a .252 three-point field goal percentage. • On the sideline, Baylor is led by first-year head coach Nicki Collen. Collen became the fifth women's basketball head coach in Baylor history in May following a three-season stint as the head coach of the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA.
• On the floor, the Bears feature three players in double figures including senior NaLyssa Smith and grad transfer Jordan Lewis.
• Smith, a candidate for every national player of the year honor, is averaging a double-double with 21.1 points, on a .580 field goal percentage and a league-best 13.1 rebounds. Against the Mean Green, Smith tallied 28 points on 14-of-21 shooting, 11 rebounds and three assists.
• Lewis, a transfer from Alabama, is second on the team in scoring at 12.3 per game and paces the Bears in assists with 5.0. Against North Texas, Lewis chipped in with 13 points and seven assists.

• K-State led wire-to-wire to defeat Oregon and run its home win streak to eight.
• The Wildcats outscored the Ducks in the paint, 32-22.
• K-State was led by Ayoka Lee with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Joining Lee in double figures was Brylee Glenn and Emilee Ebert with 15 points each.

K-State Off to Solid Start
• With its 10-2 record through 12 games, K-State is off to its best start to begin a season since the 2016-17 season when the Wildcats started 10-2. This is the fourth time under head coach Jeff Mittie that K-State has started a season 10-2.
• K-State's 10 non-conference wins are the most in a season since the 2018-19 season (10).
• The Wildcats have surpassed their entire win total from the 2020-21 season (9-18). 

1st Month the 1st to 200 Wins
• January was the first month in the history of K-State women's basketball to surpass the 200-win plateau and the Wildcats own an overall record in the month of 244-183 (.571) in the first month of the year.
• Head coach Jeff Mittie is 24-31 (.436) in January with the Wildcats.
• K-State has registered a .500 or better record in January 32 times in the history of the program.

K-State Against Ranked Opponents
• The Wildcats are 83-224 (.270) against teams ranked in the Associated Press (AP) poll including a 52-65 (.444) mark against AP ranked teams in Manhattan. 
• K-State is 11-48 (.186) against AP ranked opponents in head coach Jeff Mittie's eight seasons in Manhattan.
• In the 2020-21 season, the Wildcats ended an eight-game losing streak against AP ranked opponents with a 62-53 win over South Dakota State on December 10, 2020. This was K-State's first win against a ranked non-conference opponent since defeating Drake on March 18, 2017, in the NCAA Tournament.

Wildcats' Defense Forges Identity
• K-State has continued to be a force on the defensive end during head coach Jeff Mittie's eight seasons on the bench.
• The Wildcats have started the 2021-22 season by limiting opponents to 54.1 points per game and a field goal percentage of .335. 
• K-State ranks third in the Big 12 and 29th in the nation in scoring defense. The Wildcats are second in the Big 12 and 15th in the nation in field goal percentage defense. The Wildcats are fourth in the Big 12 and rank 40th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.252).
• K-State held its first four opponents of the 2021-22 season under 49 points in each game. This was the first time in the Mittie era and the first time since the 1972-73 season.
• Against UT Martin on Nov. 12, the Wildcats defense suppressed the Skyhawks with just 30 points allowed. The 30 points allowed were the fewest in the Mittie era and the lowest opponent total against K-State since Nov. 12, 2011, against Dartmouth when K-State surrendered just 20 points.  
• During the last 19 seasons, K-State is 119-3 (.975) when holding an opponent to 49 points or less including a 38-0 mark in the Mittie era.
• The Wildcats have held eight opponents to a field goal percentage of 35.0 percent or less including a season-low of 18.3 percent against Northwestern State on Nov. 27. 

Three is not a Crowd, It's a Benefit
• Since 2011-12, when three or more players reach double figures in scoring in the same game, K-State is 135-66 (.672) including a 6-0 mark this season.
• Against Central Arkansas on Nov. 9, the trio of Ayoka Lee, Emilee Ebert and Rebekah Dallinger combined for 70 points.
• The 70 points among the three players were the third-highest total among three K-State teammates in a game since 1986-87 and the first time since Feb. 27, 2019.
• The Wildcats had a season-high four players in double figures twice.

Sundell Sets the Table
• Freshman guard Serena Sundell has established herself at the point for K-State with her distribution skills.
• The product of Maryville, Missouri, has handed out 61 assists (5.1 apg) and owns a 2.90 assist to turnover ratio. She has six games with five or more assists this season including a career-high 10. Sundell is responsible for 26.3 percent of K-State's assists this season.
• Sundell, a two-time Big 12 Freshman of the Week recipient, is second in the Big 12 and 34th in the nation for total assists. She also is third in the Big 12 for assists per game and assist to turnover ratio.
• Among the nation's freshmen, Sundell is tied second in total assists and assists per game. 
• Her 61 assists through 12 games are the second-highest total by a K-State freshman through their first 12 games and the most by a Wildcat freshman after 12 games since the 2013-14 season.
• At South Dakota State on Dec. 11, Sundell tallied a career-high 10 assists with just one turnover.
• Sundell handed out nine assists with one turnover against Central Arkansas in the season-opener on Nov. 9. Her nine assists set the school record for assists in a K-State debut.

Glenn on Hot Streak
• Freshman guard Brylee Glenn has ratched up her scoring over the last three games which resulted in her first career Big 12 honor.
• Over her last five games beginning on Nov. 27, Glenn is averaging 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals.
• With her recent stretch, Glenn collected Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors on Dec. 6 and agains on Dec. 20.
• Against North Dakota State on Nov. 29, Glenn set career-highs in scoring (15), field goals made (6) and assists (2). Among Glenn's 15 points, 13 were scored in the fourth quarter.
• At South Carolina on Dec. 3, Glenn carded her third straight double figure scoring effort with 10 points and a career-high three steals.
• Against Oregon on Dec. 18, Glenn tied her career-high with 15 points and set a career-high with three assists.
• For the season, Glenn is third on the team in scoring with 8.2 points and has pulled in 2.5 rebounds, dished 1.1 assists and pocketed 0.9 steals.

Lee Captures 30-Point Game Record
Ayoka Lee achieved a school record with her prolific ability to score and is tied for another with her single-game mark.
• In her career, Lee owns the school record for career games with 30 or more points as she has seven such games.
• This season, Lee has four games with 30 or more points which leads the Big 12. Her four games with 30 or more points this season has tied the school record for a season with Brittany Chambers in the 2012-13 season. Only four players outside of Lee in K-State history have recorded four career games with 30 or more points.
• To open the 2021-22 season on Nov. 9 against Central Arkansas, Lee scored a career-high and school record 43 points on 17-of-25 shooting from the field and 9-of-12 from the free throw line to go with nine rebounds, four blocks, three assists and three steals. According to HerHoopStats.com, no player since at least 2009-10 has recorded a single-game stat line like Lee achieved in the season-opener.
• Her 43 points tied for the 11th highest single-game total in Big 12 history and are the second-most in the nation this season.
• On Nov. 14 against Western Kentucky, Lee notched her second 30-point game of the season with 33 points. She then followed that performance with 31 points against North Carolina A&T on Nov. 15.
• At South Dakota State on Dec. 11, Lee tallied 38 points on 16-of-30 from the field and 6-of-8 from the foul line. She set the school record for points scored in a first quarter with 16.
