MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (6-8-2, 2-4-1 Big 12) completes its 2022 home schedule on Friday night, as the Wildcats host Kansas in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown at 7 p.m.

• Tickets for both matches can be purchased by contacting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS, visiting kstatesports.com/tickets or at the Buser Family Park ticket booth. The first 200 students will receive a K-State scarf and pizza.
• Friday's match will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play), Oscar Montenegro (analyst) and Lina Sattarin (sideline) will have the call.

Last Time Out
• K-State had split results last weekend to begin its final three-match homestand of the season. The Wildcats fell 1-0 to Texas Tech on October 13, but rebounded with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma on October 16.
• With its win over the Sooners, K-State tied the school record for wins in a season with six (2017 & 2021) and the school record for wins in the month of October (2; 2020).
• K-State has played 11 matches this season decided by one goal (5-6-0). The 11 matches are the second-most matches decided by one goal in a season. The school record for matches decided by one goal in a season is 13 in the 2017 season (4-9-0). The five wins in matches decided by a goal is a new school record.
• Against Oklahoma, freshman Sophie Harlan tallied her second goal of the season and first in league play with a 43rd minute tally on an assist from sophomore Adah Anderson.
• For her efforts, Harlan was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week. She is the fourth Wildcat and the first field player since Brookelynn Entz in 2017 to earn the league's weekly rookie honor.
• In the 81st minute, senior Caylee Thornhill registered her first goal of the season and the eventual game-winning goal with a shot from 16 yards.
• This was Thornhill's third career goal and her second career game-winner.
• With the win, junior goalkeeper Alaina Werremeyer set the school record for career wins with 11.

Purple Pitch
• K-State has played 55 home matches in its 118-game history, but have felt more comfortable at Buser Family Park. 
• The Wildcats are 18-33-4 at home, including a school record four-match home field winning streak and a five-match unbeaten streak which spanned the end of the 2016 home schedule and the start of the 2017 home slate.
• In the 55 home matches, the Wildcats have been outscored by its opponents, 72-56 (-16).
• Overall in matches played within the Sunflower State, Kansas State owns a record of 20-34-5.

Firing Range
• While setting the school record for consecutive games with a goal at eight, Kansas State has pummelled the opposing net with shots - notching 214 attempts through 16 matches.
• The Wildcats rank fifth in the league in shots per game (13.38 spg).
• K-State has recorded 20 or more shots in a match three times this season, including 27 against Northern Colorado on Aug. 21.
• Kansas State set the school record for shots on goal in a Big 12 match, as the Wildcats registered 10 shots on goal at Iowa State on Sept. 22, 2022.
• In the 2021 season, the Wildcats tallied 248 shots, the second-most in program history.
• The school record for total shots in a season is 276 set in 2019, while the shots per game mark stands at 15.3 also in 2019.

Better Late than Never for K-State
• In its seven seasons of action, K-State has scored 64 of its 109 total goals in the second half or later of matches.
• Sophomore Riley Baker tallied the latest regulation game-winning goal in program history, as she scored on a penalty kick at 89:42 of the second half at Baylor on Oct. 9, 2022. It was the first game-winning goal of Baker's career.
• Senior Kyler Goins recorded the eighth-latest goal in program history and the fifth-latest regulation goal in K-State soccer history with an 86:15 tally against Purdue on September 4, 2022.
• The Wildcats have scored 11 goals in the 85th minute or later in the history of the program. Of those 11 goals, four were game-winning goals (Brookelynn Entz, Colorado State, Sept. 17, 2017 [ot]; Adah Anderson, vs. North Alabama, Aug. 29, 2021; Caylee Thornhill, at Kansas, Sept. 30, 2021 [ot]; Riley Baker, at Baylor, Oct. 9, 2022) and two were game-tying goals (Aliyah El-Naggar, at Missouri, March 28, 2021; Laramie Hall, at Creighton, Sept. 2, 2016).
• During the 2022 season, K-State has scored six of its 14 goals in the second half this season, including three in the 76th minute or later.

Happy Helpers
• K-State was helpful on its goals in 2021 and the Wildcats have continued its generosity into the 2022 season.
• Through 16 matches this season, K-State has dished out 13 assists (0.81 apg) and are third-most in a season in school history.
• K-State's 13 assists this season have come from seven different players and are led by Adah Anderson (4) and Caylee Thornhill (3).
• Against Colorado State on September 15, 2022, Kansas State registered the second-highest assist total in a match as the Wildcats tallied five assists.
• In the 2021 season, the Wildcats set the single-season record for assists with 20 on their 20 goals. K-State had just three unassisted goals in the 2021 season. 
• In its history, K-State has recorded 96 assists on its 109 goals and are averaging 0.81 per game.

Cats Reach Century Mark For Goals
• K-State reached the 100-goals scored milestone as a program in its seventh season of action.
• The Wildcats reached the mark at Weber State in a 1-0 win on September 1, 2022, and was scored by Marisa Weichel.
• In its brief history, the Wildcats have seen 33 players register at least one career goal and the overall goal total stands at 109.
• K-State set the single-season record for goals with 20 in the 2021 season.
• In the 2022 season, the Wildcats have notched 14 goals (0.88 gpg). The 14 goals ranks fifth in school history for goals in a season.

W for Werremeyer
• Junior goalkeeper Alaina Werremeyer has registered a strong 2022 season and stands atop the K-State career wins and shutouts lists.  
• At Iowa State on Sept. 22, Werremeyer notched her 10th career shutout and fifth this season.
• The product of Blue Springs, Missouri, owns the program career records career matches played in goal (39), career starts in goal (38) and career minutes (3,536:08) in goal. She also owns the school record for career saves (193), career wins (11) and is tied for the top spot for shutouts (10).
• This season, she has 15 starts with a record of 6-8-1 and a career-high five shutouts. Werremeyer has collected 63 saves (4.2 spg) and a save percentage of .788. She owns a goals against average of 1.14 and tallied a career-best streak of 295:34 consecutive shutout minutes from Sept. 4 to 18.
• Werremeyer ranks second in the Big 12 for total saves and third in the league in saves per game.

Thornhill A Winner
• Caylee Thornhill notched her second career game-winning goal with a winning effort against Oklahoma on Oct. 16.
• Against the Sooners, Thornhill scored in the 81st minute which gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead before a late Oklahoma goal assigned winning status to Thornhill's tally.
• Thornhill's two career game-winning goals have come after the 80th minute, as she scored her first career game-winning goal at Kansas on Sept. 30, 2021, in the 99th minute (98:21). This was the latest goal in school history and the second overtime game-winner in program history. 
• This season, the product of Lenexa, Kansas, is second on the team in total shots with 41 and shots on goal (13). She owns a goal and three assists.
• Her three assists are a new career season-high for assists including a pair of assists against Colorado State on Sept. 15.
• Her three assists this season ranks tied for sixth in school history for a single season. 
• In her career, Thornhill has five assists and ranks tied for sixth in school history. Her 11 career points ranks eighth in school history and her 25 shots on goal ranks seventh on the K-State career list.
• After two seasons halted by injury, Thornhill recorded her first two career goals and an assist in 2021 with 18 shots including eight on goal in a career-high 17 matches played.

Harlan Notches Second Goal
• Freshman forward Sophie Harlan wrote a new chapter for her 2022 season.
• Against Oklahoma on Oct. 16, Harlan registered her second goal of the season and her first Big 12 goal with a 43rd minute goal.
• Harlan is the first K-State freshman with two or more goals in their first season since the 2017 season (Brookelynn Entz and Hannah Davis) and the fifth overall.
• For her efforts, Harlan was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Oct. 18. She is the fourth Wildcat and the first field player since Entz in 2017 to earn the league's weekly rookie honor.
• In total this season, Harlan leads K-State's freshmen with five points (2 goals and 1 assist) and owns six shots with four on goal.
• In the opening two matches of 2022, Harlan tallied a goal and an assist. She is the first freshman in program history to register a goal and an assist in the first two matches of a season. 
• Harlan was the fourth freshman to record at least one point in the first two matches of a season, joining Katie Cramer (2016), Chloe Fisher (2018) and Kenzi Gillispie (2021).
• In the 6th minute of K-State's season-opener against Northwestern on Aug. 18, Harlan used a backheel redirection of an Adah Anderson shot to score her first goal. Harlan is the second K-State freshman in program history to score a goal in a season-opener and the first since Katie Cramer scored in the first match in program history in 2016 at Saint Louis.
• Against Northern Colorado on Sunday, Harlan delivered a cross to Anderson in the 52nd minute which Anderson finished to give K-State a 1-0 lead.

Anderson Reaches Season-High
• Sophomore midfielder Adah Anderson wasted no time in 2022 in surpassing her point production from her freshman season in 2021. 
• The product of Kansas City, Missouri, registered a goal and an assist for three points in the two opening weekend matches.
• Against Northwestern on Aug. 18, Anderson assisted on freshman Sophie Harlan's goal in the sixth minute.
• Against Northern Colorado on Aug. 21, Anderson notched a goal in the 52nd minute on an assist from Harlan.
• At UTRGV on Aug. 25, Anderson assisted on the game-winning goal by Kyler Goins in the 52nd minute.
• With her four points, Anderson recorded at least one point in the first 3 matches of the season. This was the longest point streak by a Wildcat since Brookelynn Entz tallied a point in three straight matches from Oct. 3 to Oct. 18 of 2019.
• For the season, Anderson is second on the team in points (6) and leads in assists (4). Her four assists this season are tied for third for assists in a single-season in school history and is tied for the school record for assists in a sophomore season (Tatum Wagner; 2016).
• In her career, Anderson owns two goals and five assists for nine points in 34 career matches. Anderson is tied for sixth in school history for career assists.

Nemechek Checks The Box
• Senior Bailey Nemechek found the back of the net for the first time in her K-State career with a tally against Colorado State on Sept. 15.
• She added to her ledger with an assist on Caylee Thornhill's game-winning goal against Oklahoma on Oct. 16.
• In her career, Nemechek is the eighth player in program history to play in 60 or more career matches and ranks tied for fourth in school history for matches played (64) and is fourth for career starts (502. She owns a goal, three assists and five points as a Wildcat.
