FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Trailing for most of the second half, K-State used two goals in 50 seconds to take a brief lead in the 88^th minute, but Colorado State mustered one last offensive push to square the game and send both squads to a 2-2 draw on Thursday evening at CSU Soccer Field.

Combined with its home draw to end the 2025 season, Kansas State (4-0-3) is unbeaten in its last eight matches which is a school record for the longest unbeaten streak in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 33^rd minute, Colorado State (1-5-1) scored its first goal in a first half this season to take a 1-0 lead. Sydney Torres poked in a loose ball following the third corner kick of the match for the Rams.
- In the 80^th minute, sophomore forward Gabby DeMers made a bid to square the game at one. Senior forward Rilyn Rintoul played a ball ahead to DeMers, who sped to just inside the Colorado State 18-yard box and rifled a shot past the Rams' keeper Addison Huber but the ball hit the right post and was cleared away.
- In the 87^th minute, Emerson DeLuca unleashed a shot from over 25 yards from the right side of the field. It beat the outstretched hands of Huber and nestled into the upper left corner. This was the first goal of DeLuca's career, which came in her first match of the 2026 season and in her home state of Colorado.
- DeLuca's goal was scored at 86:17. At 87:03, DeMers poked home a loose ball inside the box to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead. After a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review initiated by Colorado State, the goal was confirmed. This was DeMers' team-leading third goal of the season and the fourth of her career.
- The goals by DeLuca and DeMers marked the fourth-fastest consecutive goals in program history. They were the 16^th and 17^th K-State goals scored in the 85^th minute or later in program history. DeMers' goal at 87:03 was the seventh-latest regulation goal in program history.
- Just 20 seconds later, the Rams tied the game as Mia Casey beat Sibbing with a hard shot to the top right corner.
- K-State recorded an 18-8 advantage in total shots, but a 6-4 edge in shots on goal.

QUICK FACTS
- Head coach Colleen Corbin is 33-30-20 (.518) in her five career seasons as a head coach. She owns a 11-6-8 (.600) mark in her two seasons at K-State.
- The Wildcats are 19-55-19 (.306) in road matches in their history, including a 4-3-6 record in the Corbin era.
- This was the fourth meeting in the series between K-State and Colorado State; K-State leads the series, 3-0-1.

- K-State's three draws this season are tied for the second-most for a season in school history. This is the first time the Wildcats have had three straight matches result in a draw.

- The Wildcats trailed at halftime for the first time this season. K-State is 1-2-1 under Corbin when trailing after the first 45 minutes.
- K-State held the advantage in total shots, 18-8. When doing so, the Wildcats are 37-21-12 in its history, including an 11-3-5 record under Corbin.

PLAYER NOTES
- DeMers has a career-high three goals and eight points this season.
- Rintoul attempted six shots on Thursday. Her six attempts tied her career-high.
- Senior defender Reece Walrod made her 48th consecutive start. This was her 49^th career start and her 58th career match played. Walrod ranks ninth in program history for career games started.
- Walrod notched 90 minutes of action. With her 90 minutes on Thursday, Walrod improved her career minutes played total to 4,413 and ranks sixth among field players in program history for career minutes played. She has played the full 90 minutes in 26 consecutive matches and 31 of her last 32 matches. She is the only player at a Power 4 program to play 25 or more consecutive matches of 90 or more minutes.
- Senior forward Rilyn Rintoul, senior defender Lily Hendrickson, senior midfielder McKinnan Braswell and junior goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing each made their 25^th straight starts at K-State.
- Sophomore midfielder Langley Mayers made her 16^th career start.
- Sophomore defender Lailah Benz and sophomore midfielder Ava Patterson each made their first career start.

On what she saw from the team in the late stages of the match to take the lead…
"Going into the second half, we talked about raising our level of grit and insensitivity across the board, both in our individual and collective defending moments, as well as our attacking moments. We generated chances in the first half but weren't really on the front foot and didn't capitalize. I was really proud of the team's response and ability to find a goal late and to not settle for the tie. I think that shows a lot about the competitiveness and character of our group."

On DeLuca's goal in her first match of 2026…
"I couldn't be happier for Emerson. It has been a really challenging start to the year for her, but she has stayed the course while controlling everything that she could control in order to get back on the field. The fact that she was able to score the goal the team needed to get back in the game and to do it in her home state felt truly poetic."

On DeMers scoring another goal this season…
"Gabby has continued to work tirelessly to put herself in a position to score goals and help this team win games. I am really proud of the player she has continued to develop into and we are really excited to watch her excel the rest of the season."

On what can be taken from this match moving forward into the season…
"I shared with the team that there were two big takeaways for us as a staff from tonight's match. The first is that we need to continue to be intentional about making sure we come out on the front foot and not allow teams to settle into the game early. The second is that our team's ability to come together and find a way to score goals and push for a result is truly impressive. The group's resilience was tested today and I'm glad that we are learning hard lessons now before heading into conference play next week. We get to wake up tomorrow and get after it again on Sunday."
