Personal Bests Highlight Day Two of Michael Johnson Invitational

K-State competes next Saturday in the Rock Chalk Classic
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Multiple personal-best performances for the K-State men's and women's track and field teams highlighted the second day of the Michael Johnson Invitational on Saturday (April 22) in Waco, Texas at the Clyde Hart Stadium.
The Wildcats had four top-15 finishes in the men's and women's javelin with junior Urte Bacianskaite leading the way with a fifth-place finish with a distance of 46.28m/151-10. Junior Maddie Righter placed 12th with a throw of 38.11m/125-0. Junior Gabriel Louw competed in the men's javelin for the first time, finishing in eighth place with a throw of 53.29m/174-10, while sophomore Emil Uhlin finished 11th with a throw of 47.92m/157-2.
Freshman Delaney Wright recorded new personal bests in two events, running 14.92 seconds in the women's preliminary 100-meter hurdles and throwing 25.33m/83-1 in the javelin.
Junior Shalom Olotu recorded a new personal best in the women's triple jump with a seventh place distance of 12.67m/41-7, six inches farther than her previous from last May while competing for Oral Roberts. Freshman Jhavor Bennett finished sixth in the men's triple jump at 14.91m/48-11, half an inch from tying his personal best.
Sophomore Bryce Collins took eighth in the men's high jump with a height of 2.02m/6-7.50.
Sophomore Will Carroll posted a new personal-best time in the 400 meters of 49.85 seconds. Junior Shalysa Wray also ran a new best in the 100 meter dash in 11.67 seconds, three-tenths of a second better than her time set on April 21. Junior Kyle Johnston finished 12th out of 36 in the men's 800 meters with a new personal-best time of 1:52.73.
One men's and women's relay finished in the top-10 in the 4x400 meter with the men's team of juniors Nicolas-Jean Moulin, Kyle Gale, Tim Lambert Jr. and senior Jack Pakkebier finished 10th in a time of 3:13.63, while the women's team consisting of juniors O'Shalia Johnson, Shalysa Wray, and freshman Twaneise Johnson and Ludivine Aubert finished sixth in a time of 3:36.70.
K-State competes next Saturday (April 29) in the one day Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kan.
