
Wildcats Set to Compete in 64th Annual Mt SAC Relays

The women's heptathlon will start on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams will attend the 64th annual Mt SAC Relays from Wednesday-Saturday (April 17-20) at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif., hosted by the Mt. San Antonio College.
The Wildcats will compete in collegiate as well as elite events, with the combined events starting on Wednesday.
Senior Urte Bacianskaite is set to compete in the women's heptathlon in a field of 20 other athletes. The first four events start at 3 p.m. CT, with the 100 meter hurdles, before the last three events start on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT in the long jump.
The rest of the team will start competing at 2 p.m. CT, first with the women's javelin throw. Then, four Wildcats will compete in elite events, freshman Riley Marx in the men's javelin and junior Tommy Hazen, sophomore Cecilia Fisher and senior Hannah Stewart in the men's and women's 3,000 meter steeplechase.
K-State last competed on April 5-6 in the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Ariz. where senior Kade McCall recorded a new hammer throw school record over 70 meters at 71.87/235-9. Multiple other Wildcats also landed in the K-State all-time top-10, including the men's 4x400 relay, freshman Nen Matlock and seniors Kyle Gale, Eugene Omalla and Jaimie Omalla, winning their first race together outdoors with a time of 3:04.66, no. 4 all-time.
