During this stretch, senior Jayce Woodward tallied the two best chances, as she had a header off a corner deflected away by the Oklahoma State keeper. She then had a shot from 18 yards crash against the right post.
- The Wildcats would conclude the first half with a 14-5 lead in total shots, as nine different K-State players attempted a shot, and a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. K-State also held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

FROM THE HEAD COACH
K-State Head Coach Colleen Corbin
On the 14 minutes after the Oklahoma State goal…
"To give up a goal at the start of the game was really unfortunate and unexpected and our team came into this game feeling incredibly confident. So the staff and I were really pleased with the way the team responded and the grit and tenacity they showed to immediately get back on the front foot and go forward. We generated a lot of really good chances in front of the goal and I think that helped the group continue to believe that we could win the game."
On 9 different players attempting a shot in the first half…
"It was awesome to see so many players get involved in the attack. I loved that we had shots from everywhere and made it unpredictable and hard to defend. We always want to be more clinical in the final third, but we were really happy to generate so many chances."
On Palmer crashing the box for the game-winner…
"We loved to see that from Hannah (Palmer). We have been emphasizing getting bodies and runners in the box, especially on service and on rebounds, so it's really fun for Hannah to score in that way. It was a great ball from Allison (Marshall) and good first effort from Rilyn (Rintoul) and then an awesome, lethal follow through by Hannah."
On Hannah Palmer recording her first career multi-goal game…
"Hannah has continued to cause problems and generate dangerous opportunities, so I am really happy for her to see the ball hit the back of the net today. I also love that she stepped up with confidence to take the PK and smashed it."
On the team closing out the win…
"Unfortunately, after we scored the second goal we lost a lot of momentum with so many fouls getting called against us. I was proud of the team for staying the course and regaining their composure and putting the game on ice. It was a very mature performance from our entire team to close out the game."
On how the win can propel the team for the rest of October…
"We opened our Big 12 slate with some incredibly challenging match ups and we were really happy with how we competed and what we learned about ourselves. The team is really excited and confident heading into the back half of conference play and looking forward to having more opportunities to earn points and to continue to push to get into Big 12 postseason play in November."
FROM THE FIELD
K-State Sophomore Forward Hannah Palmer
On the message at halftime…
"At halftime our message was that we had a slip up in the first two minutes which is going to happen. We dominated the half after, so we were focusing on continuing to play how we were playing but focusing on what are we going to do to put the ball in the back of the net."
On charging the box and finishing the game-winning goal…
"I think that I originally checked down to get the ball and I didn't get it, but it went through to Allison (Marshall). I remember seeing her getting ready to cross it and I just was thinking run to get in the box. I had a feeling that it was going to bounce around and so I wanted to be running in to put it in the back of the net. Allison had a great cross and I was happy I was there to put it in."
On how this win can propel the team for the rest of October…
"This was our first Big 12 win and our first win that we came back from behind to win, so I think that it shows the resilience that this team has. It also gives us confidence going into these last five games that when we play our way we can win."
