AS A SOPHOMORE (1999): Saw action in 29 matches and 101 games as an outside hitter and defensive specialist with 14 starts... Ranked fifth on the team in digs with 231 and a 2.29 digs per game average... Also averaged 0.45 kills per game, 0.12 service aces per game and 0.28 blocks per game... Competed in all 20 Big 12 Conference matches with 12 starts and averaged 2.51 digs per game, 0.43 kills per game and 0.25 blocks per game... Mainly a defensive weapon for the Wildcats, she collected double-digit digs in nine matches, including a stretch of four consecutive matches from Nov. 17-27... Led or tied for the team-lead in digs on five occasions, including back-to-back matches against No. 24 Colorado and Iowa State on Nov. 3 and Nov. 6... Tallied five or more digs on 21 occasions, including the last 12 matches of the season... Posted a career-night against No. 22 Baylor in a four-game loss in Waco, Texas, as she earned career-highs in kills (nine), total attempts (20) and digs (23)... Scored double-digit digs for the first time on Sept. 25 in a 3-0 win over Texas Tech... Then followed a week later with 11 digs in the 3-1 win at No. 21 Colorado Oct. 2... Turned in a then career-best 19 digs in a tough 3-2 loss to the Buffaloes on Nov. 3 in Manhattan, while also adding five kills and four blocks... Keyed a tough three-game battle at Iowa State Nov. 6 with a career-high three service aces... Surpassed her previous high with 20 digs in the 3-1 loss at No. 14 Texas A&M then 10 days later earned her now career-best 23 digs in the 3-1 to No. 22 Baylor on Nov.27.
AS A FRESHMAN (1998): Saw action in all 31 matches as an outside hitter and played in all but two games (107) as a true freshman... Trailed only Disney Bronnenberg (109) for games played by a freshman last year... Finished sixth on the team in digs (183)... Recorded double-digit digs in five matches... In fact, during a four-match span from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13, she posted four consecutive double-digit dig performances including a career-best 19 against Oklahoma on Oct. 31... The span also included a pair of 10-dig matches at No. 3 Nebraska and No. 13 Colorado... Recorded five or more digs in 19 of 31 matches played... Posted a season-best two kills against Iowa State on Oct. 9 and Nov. 14... Compiled a .500 hitting percentage against the Cyclones on Nov. 14 with no errors.
AT SPENCER-NAPER HIGH SCHOOL (1994-98): Letterwinner in volleyball all four years at Spencer-Naper High School in Spencer, Neb. ... Four-year starter... Paced her team with 277 kills and a .359 hitting percentage during her senior season, helping the Pirates to an second-place finish in Class D-1 at the Nebraska State Tournament her senior season... Recorded 816 kills, 182 total blocks and 161 service aces during her career helping the Pirates compile a 77-12 record... Selected to the all-area, All-Niobrara Valley Conference and Nebraska Class C-2 All-State first teams all four years... Named to the third team Super State team, a squad made up of players from all classes in Nebraska... Lettered three years in both basketball and track and field... A three-year starter in basketball, Mimick was selected three times to the all-area and All-Niobrara Valley Conference teams, and twice to the all-state first team... Huskerland Prep Report Player of the Year as a senior... A two-year state qualifier in track and field, she still holds school records for the 100-meter hurdles (15.3), 300-meter hurdles (47.6), triple jump (36?-6?) and discus (145?)... As a sophomore, she finished as the state runner-up in the discus, while finishing third in the 300-meter hurdles, fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles... Finished second in her graduating class... Three-year member of the National Honor Society... Coached in volleyball by Donna Benson.
PERSONAL: Lisa Elaine Mimick was born Sept. 23, 1979, in Lynch, Neb. ... The daughter of Bill Mimick and Connie Zidko... Second youngest of four children... Has one sister, Amy, 28, and two brothers, Tom, 26, and Jeffrey, 14... A part of a very athletic family... Father, Bill, played football at Wayne (Neb.) State and is currently a football coach... Brother, Tom, played football at Seward Concordia (Neb.) College... Sister, Amy, played on the 1990 Spencer-Naper state volleyball championship team... Is planning a major in elementary education.
