Apr 10, 2018 | Men's Golf
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Kansas State men's golf team recorded its best finish of the season at 14-under par 850 to take second place following the second and third rounds of the Tiger Invitational at the Club at Old Hawthorne on Tuesday.
K-State's score of 850 bettered its previous season low by 17 shots, while the Wildcats' first-round score of 281 tied a season low and their third-round score of 283 was a close second.
"I am really proud of the guys and the way they played this week," said head coach Grant Robbins. "We had our chances as we got within four of the lead at one point, but we were not able to make enough putts on the back nine.
"It was a great experience, however, to be able to get into contention. It is definitely something we can build on going forward."
