MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State will face a pair of Big Ten opponents this weekend, as the Wildcats conclude a five-match road trip on Thursday and then return to Buser Family Park on Sunday night at 7 p.m. 

• On Thursday, K-State (4-2-0) will visit Purdue (3-1-2) at 6 p.m. (CDT). This will be K-State's first meeting with Purdue. Thursday's match will be streamed on Big Ten Network Plus (subscription required). 
• On Sunday, the Wildcats host Indiana (4-1-1) at 7 p.m. This will be the second meeting between the schools, as the teams played to a 0-0 draw on September 9, 2018, in Bloomington, Indiana.
• Tickets for Sunday's match can be purchased by contacting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS, visiting kstatesports.com/tickets or at the Buser Family Park ticket booth.
• In accordance with University policy, it is required that face coverings be worn in all inside spaces of Buser Family Park, regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking. In all outdoor spaces, face coverings are not required and are at the discretion of each patron.
• Sunday's match will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play) and Oscar Montenegro (analyst) will have the call. 

Last Time Out
• K-State played two matches in the Rocky Mountains last weekend, dropping a 3-1 decision at Denver on September 2 and picking up a 4-0 win at Colorado State on September 5.  
• Junior Marisa Weichel scored two goals, including her second game-winner of the season, in the win at Colorado State. Joining Weichel on the scoring ledgers were redshirt sophomore Caylee Thornhill and freshman Riley Baker with their first career goals.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Peyton Pearson recorded her third shutout in as many starts this season.

Burning the Nets
• K-State has registered 12 goals (2.00 goals/game) through the first six matches this season. The Wildcats rank third in the Big 12 for goals and are tied for third for goals per game.
• The Wildcats have registered 37 total points (6.17 pts/game), which ranks third in the Big 12 this season. The 37 points have surpassed the total points K-State registered in 2020 and are tied for fourth in school history for a season.
• The 12 goals scored through six games are the most after six games in program history. The goals have been scored by nine different players.
• The school record for goals scored in a season is 18 in the 2017 season.
 
Firing Range
• K-State has come out firing to open the 2021 season. The Wildcats are second in the Big 12 in total shots (116) and ranked third in the league and 27th in the nation for shots per game (19.33).
• Kansas State recorded a season-high 25 shots against Omaha on Aug. 22, which ranks as the fourth-highest single-match total in program history and the most since K-State tallied 27 against Arkansas State on Aug. 29, 2019.
• The school record for total shots in a season is 276 set in 2019, while the shots per game mark stands at 15.3 also in 2019.

Helpers for All
• K-State has been helpful on its goals this season, as the Wildcats have registered 13 assists on their 12 goals. K-State has just one unassisted goal this season. 
• The 13 assists this season ranks second in program history for assists in a season. The school record for assists in a season is 19 in the 2017 season.
• K-State's 13 assists have come from nine different players, which ranks tied for second in school history for players with an assist in a season. The school record for players with an assist in a season is 10 in the 2017 season.
• The Wildcats rank third in the Big 12 and 35th in the nation for assists and ranks third in the league for assists per game (2.17).
• Kansas State set the school record for assists in a match with six at Austin Peay on Aug. 27. In the same match, sophomore Maddie Weichel set the school record for assists in a match with three.
• The school record for assists in a season is 19 in 2017, while the assists per game mark stands at 1.06 in 2017.

The Road Mostly Traveled
• Since the start of the program in 2016, K-State has played 49 matches away from Manhattan.
• For the first time in program history, the Wildcats won a pair of matches away from Buser Family Park in the same weekend. K-State downed Austin Peay, 5-0, on Aug. 27 and won a neutral site match over North Alabama, 1-0, on Aug. 29.
• With its two road wins this season, K-State has tied for the second-most road wins in school history and the most since the 2017 squad set the school record with three road victories.
• Overall, the Wildcats are 9-31-9 in road matches in their history.
• In the 49 road matches, the Wildcats have been outscored by its opponents, 83-42 (-41).

Purple Pitch
• K-State has played 40 home matches in its 90-game history, but have felt more comfortable at Buser Family Park. 
• The Wildcats are 14-25-1 at home, including a school record four-match home field winning streak and a five-match unbeaten streak which spanned the end of the 2016 home schedule and the start of the 2017 home slate.
• In the 40 home matches, the Wildcats have been outscored by its opponents, 56-44 (-12).
• Overall in matches played within the Sunflower State, Kansas State owns a record of 15-26-1.

K-State Posts Blank Scoresheets
• K-State has tallied four shutouts in the 2021 season, which included a school-record shutout streak of 317:55. The Wildcats tied the school record for consecutive shutouts with three.
• In its six seasons of action, the Wildcats have registered 28 shutouts. Kansas State owns an all-time record of 21-0-7 in games allowing zero goals. The Wildcats registered a school record six shutouts in the 18 matches of the 2018 season.
• Of the 28 shutouts in program history, two goalkeepers own 19 of them. Miranda Larkin set the school record for career shutouts with 10, while former goalkeeper Emma Malsy has the other nine.
• The active goalkeepers on the K-State roster - Rachel Harris, Peyton Pearson and Alaina Werremeyer - have tallied nine shutouts in their K-State careers. Pearson ranks third in school history for career shutouts with five, while Werremeyer owns three shutouts and Harris one.

The One Who Scores
Marisa Weichel has been dynamic in her brief time with K-State.
• Weichel, a transfer from Texas Tech, leads the Wildcats this season in goals scored with four and in game-winning goals with two. She is tied for second on the team in shots on goal with six.
• She ranks tied for second in the Big 12 for goals scored, third for goals per game (0.67) and fourth for points (8).
• With her two game-winning goals this season, Weichel is tied for the single-season school record for game winners and is tied for second in program history for career game-winning goals. Nationally this season, Weichel ranks 14th in the nation for game-winning goals.
• At Colorado State on Sept. 5, Weichel registered her first career multi-goal match as she scored two goals. She became the third player in program history to score two or more goals in a match and is tied for second in school history for career multi-goal matches.
• To date, Weichel has scored at least one goal in every week of the season.

Gillispie Adds Helper in Win 
• Freshman defender Kenzi Gillispie has been a distributor out of the backline for the Wildcats in her first season in Manhattan, as she has two assists and is tied for second on the team in assists.
• Gillispie, a product of Newton, Kansas, recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against Omaha on Aug. 22. She headed the ball down off a corner kick which resulted in a goal from Marisa Weichel in the seventh minute.
• Gillispie is the first K-State freshman to record an assist in the first two games of a season. She is the third freshman to record at least one point in the first two matches of the season, joining Katie Cramer (2016) and Chloe Fisher (2018).
• She then pocketed her second career assist with a long pass on Marisa Weichel's goal in the 60th minute at Colorado State on Sept. 5.
• This season, Gillispie is third on the Wildcats in minutes played with 413 including all 90 against Weber State on Aug. 19.
