MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State, a nine-seed in the Bridgeport Region, has advanced to the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship and faces top-seed (3/3) NC State on Monday at 3 p.m. (CDT), inside Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, N.C.

• Monday's game will air on ESPN, as Sam Ravech (play-by-play) and Kelly Gramlich (analyst) will have the call.
• K-State's 11-win improvement from the 2020-21 season is the largest win improvement in the Jeff Mittie era and the second-largest win increase from one season to the next in program history. It is the largest since the school record of 14 was set in the 2001-02 season.
• The Wildcats have been led this season by All-American honoree Ayoka Lee and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention recipient Serena Sundell. 
• Lee is the first player in program history and the only player in the nation this season to register the combination of 700 or more points, 300 or more rebounds and 90 or more blocked shots.
• Sundell, a unanimous 2022 Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection, is second on the team in scoring (10.4 ppg). She is second in the Big 12 in total assists (173) and assists per game (5.4). 1. Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament
• K-State is in its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance and the fourth under head coach Jeff Mittie. The Wildcats own a record of 14-16 in its 17 appearances and have advanced at least one round 12 times.
2. K-State Sets Defensive Record
• K-State held Washington State to 40 points in the first round on Saturday. This set the school record for fewest points allowed in an NCAA Tournament game.
3. Lee Sets Double-Double School Record
• Ayoka Lee broke her own school record for double-doubles in a season, becoming the first player in program history with 20 double-doubles in a season. She is the sixth player in Big 12 history with 20 or more double-doubles in a season.

• Jeff Mittie, one of the winningest active coaches in NCAA Division I with over 575 career wins, is in his eighth season at the helm of the K-State program in 2021-22.
• Mittie, the ninth head women's basketball coach in K-State history, owns an overall career record of 599-344 (.635) in 30 years as a head coach, including a 145-109 (.571) mark in his time at K-State. He has won 19 or more games in five of his eight seasons with K-State.
• With his 145 wins at Kansas State, Mittie ranks third for wins at the helm of the K-State program.
• Mittie registered the 575th win of his coaching career, a 74-57 decision over Kansas City on Dec. 14, 2020.
• In the 2016-17 season, K-State's 23 wins were Mittie's most at the helm of the Wildcats and the most for Mittie since registering 23 in the 2007-08 season at TCU.

Lee a Double-Double Machine

• Lee has pocketed a school record 20 double-doubles in the 2021-22 season. Earlier this season, Lee tied her own school record for consecutive double-doubles with six straight. She is 10th in the nation and is second in the Big 12 this season for double-doubles.
• Lee's 20 double-doubles this season have set a school record for double-doubles in a junior season, surpassing the previous record of 15 by Nicole Ohlde in the 2002-03 season. She is one of six players in Big 12 history with 20 or more double-doubles in a season.
• Lee is the second player in program history with three or more seasons with 10 or more double-doubles (Kendra Wecker, 2001-05; 4) and is the only player in program history with two or more seasons with 15 or more double-doubles.
• In Big 12 action, Lee led the Big 12 with 11 double-doubles in league play.

• Lee is averaging 0.57 double-doubles per game in her career, which is the highest rate in school history. Among active NCAA Division I Power 5 Conference players, Lee ranks second in career double-doubles per game (Aliyah Boston, South Carolina).
• In her redshirt freshman season of 2019-20, the center from Byron, Minnesota, set the school record for double-doubles in a season with 19 and ranked tied for 8th in Big 12 history for double-doubles in a single season.
