MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State Athletics has accepted a monetary gift from John and Ann Buser towards a new videoboard at Buser Family Park for the upcoming 2022 season. This marks the second 7-figure contribution from the Buser family, as they provided a seven-figure gift as part of the Baseball-Soccer facility campaign in 2018.
"The Buser family's generosity and love for our soccer program has helped us build one of the top soccer stadiums in the Big 12, and this addition takes it to another level," Athletics Director Gene Taylor. "The new videoboard will greatly enhance the fan experience at our matches while also serving as a phenomenal recruiting advantage within our conference."
Located directly across from the 1,400 chairback bench seating on the east side of John Vanier Family Field at Buser Family Park, the high-definition video display will measure 23 feet by 41 feet in size and include a new sound system and scoreboard panel.
"We are excited for the videoboard and its addition to our already amazing facility," said K-State head coach Mike Dibbini. "This will make an impact on our program and adds a dynamic piece to both the student athlete and fan experiences. We are so thankful for the generosity of the Buser Family and their continued dedication to make such generous gifts to aid our soccer program and K-State Athletics."
Buser Family Park, which was built on the site of the original temporary facility from 2016 and dedicated in 2019, provides chairback seating along with locker rooms for K-State soccer and visiting teams, a team lounge for K-State soccer, sports medicine and strength and conditioning spaces for the Wildcat team.
In addition, the offices for the K-State soccer coaching staff are located within the facility with a team theater for meetings and includes ample equipment storage and laundry areas for the program.
