
Track and Field Spring into the Outdoor Season in Florida

Wildcats will compete in the two-day Hurricane Invitational hosted by Miami, Fla.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams kick off the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday (March 15-16) with the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. at Cobb Stadium hosted by Miami (Fla.).
On Friday, the men's hammer throw will start the day at 10 a.m. CT, the track events beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT with the women's 300 meter dash.
The women's javelin begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT, the women's 4x100 relay kicking off on the track at 12 p.m. CT.
Graduate transfer Andrew White is expected to make his debut as a Wildcat, competing in the men's discus. Junior transfer Jessi Brummett also to compete for the first time in the women's javelin.
Previously graduating from Wake Forest, White competed mainly in the discus last season, setting his personal best of 58.22m/191-0 at the ACC Championship in 2022. He also competes in the hammer throw, reaching the NCAA East Preliminary in 2022 with his best throw of 63.03m/206-9.
Brummett arrived from Cloud County Community College where she competed mainly in the javelin, recording her personal best of 45.40m/148-11 at the NJCAA Championship last May.
Wildcats to watch out for throughout the season include hammer throw school record holders, seniors Kade McCall and Emma Robbins. McCall owns the men's record at 68.97m/226-3, Robbins in the women's event 69.89m/229-3,
The Wildcats ended the indoor season sending six Wildcats to the NCAA Championship in Boston, Mass. from March 7-9, each athlete—Sharie Enoe, Monique Hardy, Kyle Gale, Eugene Omalla, Jaimie Omalla and Tavon Underwood-- earning second team All-American honors.
