K-State’s Sibbing Named IWSOC National Player of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State junior goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing added to her trophy case, as she was named Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) National Player of the Week for her performance during week three of the 2026 season.
Sibbing is the first player in program history to garner National Player of the Week honors. Earlier this week, she was named Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time in her career.
Last Sunday, Sibbing maintained a clean sheet for the third straight match in a 0-0 draw over Nebraska.
The product of Lee's Summit, Missouri, registered a season-high six saves, including a penalty kick stop in the 67th minute. This was the third time a K-State goalkeeper saved a penalty kick and the first time since 2021 against Baylor. Five of Sibbing's six saves came in the second half.
Sibbing owns an active shutout streak of three straight matches and an overall duration of 356:10, which is the third-longest duration in terms of minutes in program history.
For the season, Sibbing leads the Big 12 with a goals against average of 0.20 and owns a record of 4-0-1. She has collected 13 saves with a save percentage of .929, which is second in the Big 12 and a league-leading three shutouts and one combined shutout. Her four wins this season are tied for second in program history for wins in a junior season and ranks tied for fourth in program history for wins in a season.
K-State (4-0-1) embarks on a three-match road trip to close out its 2026 non-conference schedule, beginning tonight, as the Wildcats visit Iowa (4-1-0) at 7 p.m.
Thursday's match will stream on Big Ten+.
