CAREER:
A veteran tackle who was stellar during his senior campaign... Started
21 of his final 22 games at right tackle, including all 13 as a senior.
2011: Earned
First Team All-Big 12 accolades from the league’s coaches and the
Kansas City Star... Was also named Second Team All-Big 12 by the
Associated Press, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Rivals.com, while he
was an honorable mention for the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the year by
the Big 12 coaches... helped the Wildcats finish the regular season
with rushing average of 193.7 yards, which was 29th nationally... Voted a
team captain.
2010: Was
injured during the spring of 2010 and came back to start his first game
of the season against Nebraska, which began a string of seven straight
starts... Started eight games during the year... Also saw action against
Iowa State, UCF and North Texas... Helped the Wildcat rushing attack
gain 200.0 yards per game, which ranked second in the Big 12, 20th
nationally and 11th in school history.
2009: Started
each game at right tackle in 2009, helping the Wildcat rushing attack
gain 179.9 yards per game, the 3rd most in the Big 12.
2008: Appeared
in three games during redshirt freshman campaign... Helped lead the
Wildcats to a fourth place ranking in the Big 12 in fewest sacks
allowed.
2007: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped
at Raymore-Peculiar High School, perhaps the top high school program in
the state of Missouri... Helped lead Ray-Pec to Class 5 state titles in
2004, 2005 and 2006... A first team all-state selection as both a
junior and senior by the Missouri Coaches Association, the Missouri
Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Kansas City Star...
Also earned All-Metro honors from the Kansas City Star as a junior and
senior and was a three-time all-conference and all-district performer
(2004-05-06)... Served as a captain for the Panthers during his senior
season... Anchored an offense that averaged 365 yards and 41 points per
game during the past three seasons... Blocked for former Wildcat
quarterback Carson Coffman during the 2004 and 2005 seasons at
Ray-Pec... Coached by Tom Kruse... Also lettered twice in basketball and
once in track & field.

Aufner was born July 23, 1988, in Kansas City, Mo... Parents are Clyde
Aufner and Tina Alyea... Has one sister... Majoring in engineering...
Earned the nickname "The Diesel" as a prep for the way he mowed down
opponents... Selected K-State over interest from Michigan State, Kansas,
Missouri and Colorado State.
