CAREER: One of the tallest linemen in school history who was an anchor at left tackle throughout his senior year.
2011: Earned
Second Team All-Big 12 accolades from the league’s coaches and was an
honorable mention pick by the Associated Press... Also earned Second
Team Academic All-Big 12 honors... Saw significant playing time at left
tackle against Kent State and started the final 10 regular season
games... Helped the Wildcats average 193.7 rushing yards during the
regular season, which was 29th nationally.
2010: Played
against UCLA at right tackle and started the next three games... Went
on to appear in all 13 games while starting four... Helped the Wildcat
rushing attack gain 200.0 yards per game, which ranked second in the Big
12, 20th nationally and 11th in school history.
2009: Saw action in all 12 games as a reserve tackle and on special teams.
2008: Redshirted.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played one year at guard for the 4-6 Sacramento City College Panthers under head coach Mike Clemons.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played
two years for the Linden Lions under coaches Tim Patterson and Mike
Huber... Team won the Mother Lode League and was the section
runner-up... Named all-league, all-area and second team all-state
following his senior season in 2006... Also lettered two years in
basketball and was an honor roll student all four years.
PERSONAL: Zach Hanson was born Feb. 13, 1988... Parents are Earl and Sandy Hanson.
