CAREER: An athletic and intelligent player who was a standout both on the field and in the classroom throughout his entire career... Was a finalist for the Campbell Trophy during his senior campaign, also known as the “Academic Heisman”... Was named a First Team Academic All-American, the Wildcats’ first first-team member since 2001… A two-year team captain.

Had 10 career interceptions to tie for sixth in school history... Became the 23rd player in school history with at least 250 career tackles when he passed the barrier against Iowa State... HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter at both quarterback and defensive back at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School... Led the Crusaders to a 5-5 record, a district title and a berth in the Kansas 5A playoffs in 2006... Amassed 1,652 yards of total offense as a senior... Threw for 978 yards and 11 touchdowns on 78-for-146 passing, while rushing for 674 yards and six scores on 74 attempts... Earned first team 5A all-state honors at defensive back from the Topeka Capital-Journal, Wichita Eagle and the KFCA... Named second team all-city and honorable mention all-state as a quarterback... Completed 104-of-193 passes for 1,420 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior... Also rushed for 382 yards and 11 TDs on 60 attempts during the 2005 season...
