K-State Adds El-Naggar to 2021 Roster

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State soccer head coach Mike Dibbini added another piece to the defensive backline for the 2021 season, as the Wildcats have added Ohio State transfer Aliyah El-Naggar. El-Naggar will have three seasons of eligibility with K-State.Â
"Aliyah is an exciting addition to our roster," said Dibbini about the first player in program history from the Buckeye State. "She is a smart two-way defender that can give us solid experience among the backline. She will also be valuable in her services on set pieces and corners. Her versatility and experience playing both the center back and outside back positions will be very important for our lineup flexibility next season."Â
El-Naggar, a product of Mason, Ohio, played just one season at Ohio State, as the Big Ten Conference moved its season to the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In her only season with the Buckeyes, El-Naggar saw action in 17 matches with 13 starts at right back. She tied for second on the team with two assists including assisting on the game-winner against Ohio.
In her prep and club career, El-Naggar ranked as the 119th prospect in the nation and the 24th-best player in the state of Ohio by MaxPreps.com. In 2017, El-Naggar won the U.S. Soccer Nationals and was named to the Best 11 at the conclusion of the event.
In 2016, El-Naggar was a member of the U.S. Soccer Nationals runner-up team. She also was a member of the 2016 ODP National Training Camp. In 2015, she was invited to the U.S. Soccer U15 National Team training camp and competed with the Ohio and Region II Olympic Development Program (ODP).Â
She was a two-year letter winner at Mason High School and was named to the 2016 All-Ohio Second Team, the 2016 All-Southwest Ohio Team and a 2016 All-Greater Miami Conference First Team.
K-State capped its Big 12-only schedule with a record of 3-6-0. This marked the most wins in league play since the program started as a member of the Big 12 in 2017.Â
The Wildcats, winners of three of their final five matches, also clinched a seventh-place finish in the league standings which marked its highest finish in the league standings.
