Feb 25, 2022 | Track & Field
AMES, Iowa – The Kansas State track and field teams sit in fifth and seventh places, respectively, after day one of the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships, while they advanced 11 individuals to the finals in their respective events at the Lied Recreation Center.
The K-State women's team sits in fifth place with 24 points, while the men's team is in seventh place with 14 points. The Texas Tech men (41 points) and the Oklahoma State women (50 points) each lead the competition.
"The big thing today is qualifying," stated Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cliff Rovelto. "From my perspective, I thought we qualified pretty well. Those that made it to finals, took care of business. The events that were finals, some of them were good and some were not so good, but that's just a track meet."
