MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State soccer begins its eighth season of action and its seventh in Big 12 play in 2023.
• The Wildcats open the season with a two-match road trip along Lake Michigan, as the Wildcats face Green Bay on Thursday at 3 p.m., and a visit to 18th-ranked Northwestern on Sunday at 1 p.m. K-State's game at Green Bay will be available on ESPN+, while Sunday's match at Northwestern will air on B1G+.Â
• This is the first time since the 2019 season that K-State will open a season with a two-match road trip.
Last Time Out
• K-State played a two-match exhibition slate, as the Wildcats registered a win and draw. Â
• The Cats recorded a 4-0 win at Missouri State in a match that was adjusted to four, 25-minute quarters. Goals were scored by Riley Baker, Kiran Singh, Andra Mohler and Adah Anderson.
• In the final preseason tuneup, K-State played eighth-ranked Arkansas to a 1-1 draw in an adjusted four, 25-minute quarter match in Fayetteville.
• Sophomore Khaliana Garrett played in a free kick that was misplayed by Arkansas to square the match.

• Kansas State soccer completed its seventh season of action and its sixth in Big 12 play in 2022.
• The Wildcats (6-10-3, 2-5-2 Big 12) tied the school record for wins in a season and collected eight points in the league standings to secure eighth place in the Big 12 standings and qualified for the 2022 Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship for the first time in program history.
• K-State's points leaders for the 2022 season were Kyler Goins with a career-high 12 points (5 goals, two assists), Caylee Thornhill with a career-high seven points (two goals and three assists) and top 2023 returner Adah Anderson with six (one goal, four assists). Anderson paced the team in assists.
• Defender Jazmin Brown became the second Wildcat to claim Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors.
• In the classroom, K-State tallied a school record six College Sports Communicators Academic All-District VII honors as Aliyah El-Naggar, Bailey Nemechek, Caylee Thornhill, Maddie Weichel, Marisa Weichel and Alaina Werremeyer earned the honor.
• The Wildcats tied the school record for draws in a season (three), equaling the mark set in the 2016 season.

• K-State reached the 100-goal mark as a program on September 1, 2022, at Weber State. Marisa Weichel scored the 100th goal pushing the Wildcats to the mark in the 107th match in program history.
• Four Wildcats notched five or more total points last season, which is tied for second in program history for players with five or more points in a season (2017; 5).
• The 11 goals allowed in Big 12 play set the school record for the fewest goals surrendered in a Big 12 schedule.
• Defensively, K-State allowed 238 total shots which were the fewest in an 18-game season in program history.
• K-State allowed the lowest shot per game total, 12.5, in the program's seven-season history. The Wildcats lowered their opponent shots per game average from 2021 by 1.6 shots (14.1 to 12.5).
• The Wildcats also set the school record for the fewest shots on goal allowed per game (5.5)
• Wildcat goalkeepers allowed 24 goals in 2022, tied for the second-fewest goals allowed in a season since K-State played a full 18-match schedule in 2017.
• K-State tied for the second-most shutouts in a season with five. The Wildcats set the school record for scoreless halves in a season with 22.
• Brown set the school record for minutes played in a freshman season with 1,476.
• Riley Baker scored the latest regulation goal in program history, notching a penalty kick game-winner at 89:42 at Baylor on Oct. 9. Baker was just the second Wildcat to ever score on a penalty kick in program history.
Dibbini In Eighth Season at K-State
• K-State announced the formation of its women's soccer program on Oct. 12, 2014. With the task of building a program from the ground up, K-State announced on Dec. 26, 2014, that Mike Dibbini would be the first head coach in program history.
• Dibbini is in his eighth season with the Wildcats. He owns a 297-152-46 (.646) career mark, including a 32-74-15 (.326) mark at K-State.Â
• Prior to coming to K-State, Dibbini spent eight seasons at Kansas Wesleyan (NAIA) and two seasons at Cal Poly Pomona (NCAA D-II).
K-State in Season Openers
• The Wildcats are 1-5-1 in its previous seven season-openers. This is the first time K-State will open on the road since the 2019 season.Â

• K-State's 2023 roster includes 17 newcomers featuring 13 true freshmen. Of the 17 newcomers, Lydia Myers (32 matches; Texas A&M-Commerce), Kiran Singh (50 matches; UTSA) and Murhpy Sheaff (13 matches; Jacksonville) have collegiate soccer experience.Â
• During its brief history, K-State has seen two freshmen score in a season-opener. Katie Cramer delivered the first goal in program history scoring directly on a corner kick at Saint Louis on August 19, 2016. Sophie Harlan became the second as she deflected a K-State shot into the Northwestern net in the 6th minute to open the 2022 season.
