A weekend starter, Fischer was 2-4 with a 5.37 ERA (31er, 52.0ip), 42 strikeouts and 22 walks in 16 appearances (14 starts) … The senior was tied for second on the team in starts and third in innings pitched … Opponents hit .290 against … As a starter, he was 2-3 with a 5.04 ERA (28er, 50.0ip) and 41 strikeouts against 21 walks … Opening Day starter … Tossed 5 shutout innings and struck out 5 on February 19 at UC Riverside, helping lead the Wildcats to a 1-0 win … Threw a season-high 6 innings in his second start of the season on February 25 vs. No. 5 Oregon State … Limited the Beavers to 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks … Logged a 2.60 ERA (5er, 17.1ip) in 4 starts during the month of April … After holding West Virginia to one run over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision on April 17, he earned the win on April 24 vs. Baylor to help clinch the series for K-State … Held the Bears to 2 runs over 5 innings while striking out 3 … Started K-State’s opener in the Big 12 Baseball Championship in Oklahoma City against Texas Tech, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings.
JUNIOR (2015)
Weekend starter turned All-Big 12 reliever, he appeared in 19 games (7 starts) in his first season at K-State, logging a 4-6 record with a 4.37 ERA (27er, 55.2ip), 29 strikeouts, and 17 walks ... Named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after allowing just 1 run in his first 9 Big 12 relief appearances ... Over his 10 conference relief outings, he finished with a 2.45 ERA (5er, 18.1ip) and .212 batting average against ... Surrendered just 14 hits over his 18 1/3 relief innings in conference-play, with just 4 of those hits being for extra bases (all doubles) ... As a reliever in the overall season, he was 3-3 with a 4.05 ERA (9er, 20.0ip) and .230 batting average against ... In his 7 starts, the right-hander was 1-3 with a 4.54 ERA (18er, 35.2ip), 21 strikeouts, and 13 walks ... Did not allow a run for 10 1/3 consecutive innings from April 2-25 … Over the 6-game stretch, he held opponents to a .065 batting average against (2 hits, none for extra bases) ... His final outing of the stretch was at Baylor, an appearance in which he held the Bears scoreless over 3 1/3 innings while also limiting them to 1 hit ... Also tossed 3 shutout relief innings on May 10 vs. Oklahoma, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 2.
SUMMER LEAGUE 2014
Pitched for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League, going 2-3 with a 4.08 ERA (23er, 50.2ip) in 10 games (9 starts) ... Struck out 41 and walked 17 ... Threw a 2-hit shutout on July 11 vs. Battle Creek, striking out 10 and walking 1 in 7 innings.
