MANHATTAN, Kansas - Kansas State women's soccer opens its October schedule with the first Sunflower Showdown, as the Wildcats travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to face Kansas at Rock Chalk Park on Friday night at 7 p.m.

• Friday's match will be broadcast by Spectrum Sports and will be available on 101.5 KROCK in Manhattan and kstatesports.com.
• K-State will look to end a four-match October scoreless streak, dating back to the four matches in the 10th month during the inaugural season.

West Virginia in Review
• Kansas State strung together one of its finest defensive efforts of the season, as Wildcats fell to No. 9 West Virginia, 1-0, on Friday, September 29.
• K-State kept the Mountaineers off the scoreboard for the first 83 minutes of the match, but in the 84th minute West Virginia broke through with its only goal of the night.
• Senior goalkeeper Miranda Larkin registered eight saves on the nine shots on goal by West Virginia.

Kansas at a Glance
• Kansas (6-5-2, 1-1-1 Big 12) tallied a 2-1 win at Iowa State on Sept. 29, the first win for the Jayhawks since Sept. 3 against No. 7 USC.
• On the sidelines, Kansas is guided by 19th year head coach Mark Francis. During his time at KU, Francis owns a record of 205-153-30 (.567).
• On the field, the Jayhawks are led by junior forward Grace Hagan. The product of Wichita, Kansas, leads the team with five goals and 13 total points.

Game Winning Goals for All
• Through 28 matches in program history, Kansas State has registered nine victories. In those nine wins, K-State has had nine different players register the game-winning goal.
• The first game-winning goal in program history was awarded to Abby Sieperda in the Wildcats' 6-0 win at Oakland on August 26, 2016.
• Since Sieperda's winner, eight additional Wildcats have sent home the winning goal: Dora Gallo (at Omaha, 2016); Kim Braddock (South Dakota, 2016); Ashley Zane (UMKC, 2016); Haley Sutter (at Oral Roberts, 2017); Morgan Mauck (Omaha, 2017); Christina Baxter (Central Arkansas, 2017); Hannah Davis (at South Dakota, 2017); and Brookelynn Entz (Colorado State, 2017).
• Of the nine game-winning goals, five were scored by freshmen and five of the goals were the first of their collegiate careers.

Better Late than Never for K-State
• Continuing a trend from the inaugural season in 2016, the Wildcats have registered eight second half/overtime goals in 2017.
• Of K-State's 13 total goals, eight have been scored in the second half or overtime including three between the 61st and 75th minutes. When combined with the inaugural season, Kansas State has scored eight of the program's 29 goals (27.6 percent) between the 61st and 75th minutes.
• In 2017, the Wildcats have fired off 97 of its 166 total shots in the second half or overtime, while also registering 35 of its 55 corner kicks in the second half or overtime.
• In the inaugural season, Kansas State head coach Mike Dibbini made his halftime adjustments count as the Wildcats outscored opponents 12-9 in the second half.
• Five of K-State's 16 goals in 2016 were scored between the 46th and 60th minutes of the match, while the Wildcats scored four goals in the 76th to 90th minutes.
• The Wildcats' attempted 34 more shots in the second half (97-63) than the first.
