MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (4-4-1) begins Big 12 action this weekend, as the Wildcats open its league schedule at Iowa State on Thursday at 6 p.m. K-State returns to Buser Family Park on Sunday, as the Wildcats host Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
• Both matches will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Sunday's broadcast team is Brian Smoller (play-by-play), Oscar Montenegro (analyst) and Lina Sattarin (sideline) will have the call.

Last Time Out
• K-State split its final two non-conference matches of the 2022 schedule, as the Wildcats downed Colorado State, 3-0, on Sept. 15 and dropped a 2-0 decision at South Dakota State on Sept. 18.
• Against the Rams, the Wildcats tallied a season-high three goals and did so in a school record two-minute and 58-second span in the first half (16:53 to 19:51). The three first half goals tied the school record for goals scored in a first half.
• Senior Kyler Goins tied the school record with two goals and five total points against Colorado State.
• Senior midfielder Bailey Nemechek registered her first career goal.
• Junior goalkeeper Alaina Werremeyer set a career season-high with her fourth shutout of the season.
• At South Dakota State, Werremeyer saw her season-high consecutive shutout streak end at 295:34 as the Jackrabbits carded a pair of second half goals to extend their unbeaten home streak to 37 straight matches. Werremeyer tallied five matches, the 15th time she has tallied five or more saves in a match and her second this season.
• K-State had its school record streak of consecutive matches with a goal end at eight matches.
K-State Sets Record in Goal Flurry
• The Wildcats registered an unexpected record for the speed at which it scored against Colorado State on Sept. 15.
• Kansas State scored three goals in a span of two minutes and 58 seconds (16:53 to 19:51) in the first half.
• K-State also recorded the fastest consecutive goals in program history, scoring just 32 seconds apart (19:19 to 19:51).
• The first and second goals of the match were scored by senior Kyler Goins. Goins established a new school record for fastest consecutive goals by one player in school history with just two minutes and 26 seconds between tallies. The previous record was held by Katie Cramer at Creighton on August 23, 2019, with a time of six minutes and 39 seconds.
Goins With Goals
• Senior Kyler Goins has paced the Wildcat attack this season.
• This season, Goins leads K-State with five goals including two game-winning goals, 11 points and 14 shots on goal. She is tied for the team lead in total shots with 28.
• Goins is the third Wildcat in program history (Brookelynn Entz & Marisa Weichel) to score five or more goals in a season and is tied for third in program history for goals scored in a season.
• Against Colorado State on Sept. 15, Goins achieved her first career multi-goal game and set new career-highs with two goals and five points in the 3-0 win.
• Her two goals came in a span of two minutes and 26 seconds to set the school record for fastest consecutive goals by one player.
• During a two-game swing through Texas, Goins scored both of K-State's goals. Against UTRGV, she tallied her first goal of the season and the first game-winning goal of her career with a 51st minute strike that bounced off the crossbar and into the net.
• At UTSA, Goins scored her second of the season and moved into the team lead for goals scored this season.
• This is the second time in her career in which she has scored a goal in consecutive games, also doing so at Kansas on Sept. 30, 2021 and against West Virginia on Oct. 7, 2021.
• Goins added her third goal of the season and first home goal of 2022 with a marker against Purdue on September 4.
• In her K-State career, Goins ranks second in school history for career goals (10) and is third in program history for career goals per game (0.25). She also is tied for second in school history for career points (22) and is third for career points per game (0.55).
• In the 2021 season, the product of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, led the Wildcats in goals (3) and points (6) in Big 12-only matches. She scored three of K-State's six goals in league action. Goins is the second player in program history to register five or more points in Big 12 play.
• Goins scored the game-tying goal against ninth-ranked West Virginia on October 7 with a rocket shot from 20 yards into the upper right corner in the 18th minute. This was just the third game-tying goal in program history and the first in the six-year history of Buser Family Park.

Nemechek Checks The Box
• Senior Bailey Nemechek found the back of the net for the first time in her K-State career with a tally against Colorado State on Sept. 15.
• In her career, Nemechek has played in 57 career matches and ranks eighth in school history and is sixth for career starts (45). She owns a goal, two assists and four points as a Wildcat.
Thornhill Adds Name to Assist List
• Caylee Thornhill has established a new career season-high for assists.
• Thornhill has tallied a best of three assists this season, including a pair of assists against Colorado State on Sept. 15.
• Her three assists this season ranks tied for fifth in school history for a single season.Â
• This season, the product of Lenexa, Kansas, is tied for the team lead in total shots with 28 total shots and is second for shots on goal (8).
• In her career, Thornhill has five assists and ranks tied for sixth in school history. Her nine career points ranks tied for 10th in school history.
• In the 2021 season, Thornhill made her first start of the 2021 season memorable, as she scored the overtime game-winning goal at Kansas on Sept. 30, 2021.
• Thornhill played a personal season-high of 66 minutes and tallied three shots with one on goal against the Jayhawks. Thornhill scored the game-winner in the 99th minute (98:21). This was the latest goal in school history and the second overtime game-winner in program history.
• After two seasons halted by injury, Thornhill recorded her first two career goals and an assist in 2021 with 18 shots including eight on goal in a career-high 17 matches played.
Anderson Reaches Season-High
• Sophomore midfielder Adah Anderson has wasted no time in 2022 in surpassing her point production from her freshman season in 2021.Â
• The product of Kansas City, Missouri, registered a goal and an assist for three points in the two opening weekend matches.
• Against Northwestern on Aug. 18, Anderson assisted on freshman Sophie Harlan's goal in the sixth minute.
• Against Northern Colorado on Aug. 21, Anderson notched a goal in the 52nd minute on an assist from Harlan.
• At UTRGV on Aug. 25, Anderson assisted on the game-winning goal by Kyler Goins in the 52nd minute.
• With her four points, Anderson recorded at least one point in the first 3 matches of the season. This was the longest point streak by a Wildcat since Brookelynn Entz tallied a point in three straight matches from Oct. 3 to Oct. 18 of 2019.
• Anderson is second on the team in points (5) and is tied for the team lead in assists (3). Her three assists this season are tied for the fifth highest single-season total in school history.
• In her career, Anderson owns two goals and four assists for eight points in 26 career matches. Anderson is eighth in school history for career assists.
