MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (3-8-3, 1-4-1 Big 12) visits Big 12 newcomer and seventh-ranked BYU (10-1-3, 3-0-3), as the Wildcats head to Provo, Utah, for a Monday night kickoff at 6 p.m. (CT). Monday's match will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
• K-State ended a four-match losing streak with a 1-0 win over Houston at Buser Family Park on Thursday.
• The win ended a 10-match winless streak (0-8-2) for the Wildcats and was the first since August 24 against UTSA. This was the second-longest stretch without a victory since a 12-match winless streak spanning the 2018 and 2019 seasons. K-State ended the 2018 season on a nine-match losing streak and started the 2019 season with an 0-2-1 mark before pocketing a win against South Dakota State on Sept. 1, 2019.
• The Wildcats outshot the Cougars, 18-11, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. The nine shots on goal tied for the second-most in a Big 12 match in program history.
• Sophomore Jazmin Brown collected her third goal of the season and her career in the 23rd minute, heading in a corner kick. This was Brown's first career game-winning goal.
• Prior to Brown's goal, K-State was held scoreless in four straight matches and a total time of 394:56. This was the second-longest scoreless stretch of the season, as the Wildcats were held goalless for 424:30 from August 24 to September 10.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Murphy Sheaff earned her fourth shutout this season. She is fifth in school history for shutouts in a season and is second for shutouts in a sophomore season.

K-State vs. Ranked Foes
• Kansas State has played 21 matches in its brief history against United Soccer Coaches ranked opponents. 
• The Wildcats are 0-18-3 against ranked opponents. K-State secured its first road draw at a ranked opponent, registering a 0-0 draw at 18th-ranked Northwestern on Aug. 20, 2023. The road draw snapped a nine-match road losing streak to ranked foes.
• Kansas State has played four ranked opponents in a season twice (2018 and 2019).

Shot Prevention is Goal Prevention
• K-State has prevented opponent shots on goal in the 2023 season.
• The Wildcats have limited its foes to 5.2 shots on goal per game and a shots on goal percentage of .343. The shots on goal percentage would be the lowest in a season allowed in program history, surpassing the previous best of .405 in 2017.
• In three of its 14 matches, K-State has allowed two shots on goal in each of those matches.
• K-State's 2022 version of the defensive backline was one of the best defensive units in the seven seasons of the program.
• The Wildcats allowed 5.5 shots on goal per game.
• The 5.5 shots on goal allowed per game in the 2022 season were 1.1 less than the previous record low of 6.6 shots on goal allowed per game in 2018.
• K-State's 1.26 goals against average last season was the second-lowest in program history.

K-State Posts Blank Scoresheets
• The Wildcats registered an historic run of holding opponents off the scoreboard earlier this season.
• K-State registered three consecutive shutouts for the third time in program history and the first time since the 2021 season. In total the Wildcats held its foes scoreless for a school record 416:44 of game action, which was the final 80:17 of play against Green Bay and the next three and a half matches, ending in the second half at Vanderbilt on Aug. 31.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Murphy Sheaff was responsible for all three shutouts and joined former Wildcat netminder Emma Malsy as the only Wildcat keepers to record three consecutive shutouts in the first four matches of a season.
• K-State recorded its first shutout of the season at 18th-ranked Northwestern. Sheaff made five saves to secure the first shutout for the Wildcats since September 22, 2022, at Iowa State. It was K-State's first road shutout of a ranked opponent.
• In its eight seasons of action, the Wildcats have registered 39 shutouts. Kansas State owns an all-time record of 28-0-11 in games allowing zero goals.
• Of the 39 shutouts in program history, three goalkeepers own 29 of them. Miranda Larkin and Alaina Werremeyer own  the school record for career shutouts with 10, while Malsy owns nine.

All That Jaz
• Centerback Jazmin Brown has put her name atop the 2023 K-State scoring ledger this season and registered her first Big 12 tally.
• Against Houston on October 5, Brown headed in a corner kick for her first career game-winning goal and her first goal in Big 12 play.
• In the season-opener at Green Bay, the Gilbert, Arizona, product, procured her first collegiate goal in the 19th minute on a corner service from Kiran Singh. Brown headed the pass in for her first goal.
• Brown notched her second goal in the 81st minute. The second tally was a mirror image of the first, with a service on a corner from Singh and Brown headed the orb into the net.
• Brown is the first K-State defender to score two or more goals in a match.
• Brown was the second K-State player to score two or more goals in a season-opener, joining Katie Cramer in 2019.
• This season, Brown has played 1256 of a possible 1260 minutes and owns a career-high 13 shots with nine on goal and leads the team in goals with three.

• Centerback Jazmin Brown continues to be a staple along the K-State backline.
• This season, Brown has played 1256 of a possible 1260 minutes this season.
• In the last two seasons, Brown has played a total of 2732 minutes which is 92.0 percent (2970:00) of the available minutes in the last 33 matches K-State has played.
• Among field players in the 2022 season, Brown was fourth on the team and first among freshmen in minutes played with 1,476 during her 19 matches played and 18 starts.
• Among freshmen in program history, Brown was the ninth freshman to surpass the 1,000 minutes played mark and set the school record for minutes played in their debut season.

Blank Sheaff
• Sophomore goalkeeper Murphy Sheaff notched a record-setting shutout streak early in her brief time as a Wildcat.
• Sheaff carded a career-best streak and school record of 416:44 of shutout soccer. This surpassed her previous high of 325:28 last season at Jacksonville.
• She hauled in five saves at 18th-ranked Northwestern on August 20 to register the first of three straight shutouts. 
• The product of Sunshine Coast, Australia, is the second goalkeeper in program history to card a shutout against a ranked opponent, joining Alaina Werremeyer's 2021 shutout of 23rd-ranked Baylor.
• Sheaff collected her first shutout in Big 12 play, hauling on four saves against Houston on October 5.
• She is second in school history for shutouts in a sophomore season (4).
• She has five matches with five or more saves, including two matches with a season-high seven saves. Sheaff ranks third in the league for total saves (54).
• Sheaff owns nine shutouts in her collegiate career, notching five while a member of Jacksonville last season.
• A season ago, Sheaff led the nation in save percentage (.902) and finished second in the ASUN and 17th in the nation for goals against average (0.60).
