MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (2-0-0) soccer begins a four-match road trip over the next three weeks of the season, as the Wildcats visit Vermillion, S.D., to face South Dakota (1-0-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m.

• The Wildcats' four match road trip is the longest for the program since the end of the program's debut season in 2016 when K-State played its final four matches of that season away from Manhattan.
• This will be K-State's second trip to Vermillion, as the Wildcats secured a 1-0 result against the Coyotes on Sept. 14, 2017.
• Thursday's match can be seen live online on the Summit League Network.

Last Time Out
• The Wildcats started the Colleen Corbin era with a 2-0-0 record, as K-State secured a pair of 2-0 wins. This is the first 2-0-0 start for K-State since the 2018 season.
• On Thursday in the season-opener against Oral Roberts, K-State notched goals in the 61st and 71st minutes. Junior Rilyn Rintoul registered the game-winner, while redshirt freshman Alix Regier provided the insurance tally. Both goals were assisted by sophomore Hannah Palmer (right).
• On Sunday to close the opening weekend of the season, K-State again scored two second half goals to crack the packed in Portland State defense. Palmer scored her first career game-winner, while sophomore Mabry Williams scored her first goal as a Wildcat. Williams collected a three-point afternoon in her debut as a Wildcat, as she also assisted on the game-winner by Palmer.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing registered two shutout wins in her debut weekend with the Wildcats. She is the second K-State goalkeeper and first since 2018 (Emma Malsy) to register two shutout wins in her first two matches as a Wildcat.

At a Glance: South Dakota
• South Dakota (1-0-1, 0-0-0 Summit) will host a pair of matches this weekend at First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex, as K-State (Thursday) and Morningside (Saturday) will come to town.
• The Coyotes, picked to finish sixth in the Summit League, secured an unbeaten opening weekend with a 1-1 home draw against Northern Iowa and a 2-1 win at Drake on Sunday. 
• South Dakota is led on the sideline by ninth-year head coach Michael Thomas. During his time in Vermillion, Thomas has guided the squad to a 51-52-25 record.
• Offensively, South Dakota has been led by redshirt freshman forward Klarissa Vega with a goal and an assist, while junior forward Kyla Brown and junior midfielder Brooke Conway have eached added a goal.

Corbin In First Year at K-State
• On December 5, 2024, K-State announced the second head coach in program history as Colleen Corbin was selected to guide the program. She is the first female head coach in program history.
• Corbin is in her fourth season as a head coach, as she was the head coach at Wyoming from 2021-23. She owns a career mark of 24-24-12 (.500), including a 2-0-0 (1.000) record at K-State.
• A 2012 graduate of Oregon State where she was a highly decorated goalkeeper, Corbin came to the Little Apple after a stint in 2024 as the associate head coach at Saint Louis.

K-State in Road Openers
• The Wildcats will play their 10th road-opener in program history. 
• K-State is 4-4-1 in its previous nine road-openers.
• Kansas State has won four straight road-openers, beginning with a 5-0 win at Austin Peay on August 27, 2021.
• The Wildcats have outscored its opponents during the three-game winning streak, 12-1.

Cats Score A Litter of Goals
• K-State got off to a hot start in goal scoring during the opening weekend.
• As a program, the Wildcats have seen 47 players register at least one career goal and the overall goal total stands at 142. The newest goal scorers for K-State are: Rilyn Rintoul (vs. Oral Roberts, 8/14/25), Alix Regier (vs. Oral Roberts, 8/14/25) and Mabry Williams (vs. Portland State, 8/17/25).
• In its history, K-State reached the 100-goals scored milestone in its seventh season of action as the triple-digit tally was scored at Weber State in a 1-0 win on September 1, 2022, and was scored by Marisa Weichel.
• In 2024, the Wildcats scored 17 goals, which was 0.94 goals per game. The 17 goals were third-most in a season in program history. K-State set the single-season record for goals with 20 in the 2021 season.
• The 17 goals were scored by 12 different players which was a school record for players with at least one goal in a season.
• K-State tied the school record for goals in a match and set the school record for goals scored at Buser Family Park with six goals against Green Bay on Aug. 29.

Happy Helpers
• The Wildcats helped each other out in the opening weekend, registering three assists on the four goals. 
• Sophomore Hannah Palmer paced the Wildcats with two assists, while Mabry Williams was credited with the other. The lone unassisted goal from K-State came on a direct free kick by Williams against Portland State.
• K-State was in a giving mood last season, as the Wildcats handed out 18 assists on 17 goals which was 1.00 assists per game.
• The 18 assists were third-most in a season in program history. Of the 18 assists, 11 different players tallied at least one which was the second-most in program history behind the record of 12 in 2021.

K-State Posts Blank Score Sheets
• K-State registered its first consecutive shutouts to begin a season since 2018.
• The Wildcats blanked Oral Roberts and Portland State to open the 2025 season. Goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing is the second Wildcat keeper (Emma Malsy, 2018) to registered two straight shutout wins to begin a K-State career.
• In its 10 seasons of action, the Wildcats have registered 45 shutouts. Kansas State owns an all-time record of 32-0-13 in games allowing zero goals. 
• The school record for total minutes of shutout soccer came in 2023, with a duration of 416:44 of game action. It was the final 80:17 of play against Green Bay in the season-opener and then the next three and a half matches, ending in the second half at Vanderbilt on Aug. 31, 2023.

Shot Prevention is Goal Prevention
• K-State prevented opponent shots on goal in the opening weekend of the season. This season, the Wildcats have limited opponents to 1.5 shots on goal and a .333 shots on goal percentage.
• Against Portland State on Aug. 17, the Wildcats limited the Vikings to one shot on goal on just three total attempts. The three total shots allowed were the fewest since Aug. 17, 2023 at Green Bay.
• The lowest shots on goal percentage allowed by K-State is .360 in the 2023 season.
• K-State allowed the fewest shots on goal per game in 2022 of 5.5 per match.

Game is in the Palm(er) of Her Hand
• Hannah Palmer had a busy homestand in Week 1 of the season, as she tallied a goal and two assists.
• Against Oral Roberts in the season-opener on Aug. 14, Palmer assisted on both of K-State's goals to record her first two collegiate assists. She was the first Wildcat to carded two or more assists in a game since Sept. 1, 2024.
• Against Portland State on Aug. 17, the forward from Bucyrus, Kansas, registered her first goal of the season and her first collegiate game-winning goal.
• In her career, Palmer owns two goals, two assists and six points.

Call Her Mabry
• Mabry Williams made her K-State debut a successful one in Week 1.
• After missing the season-opener, Williams made up for lost time by carding a goal and an assist against Portland State on Aug. 17 in 31 minutes of action.
• With her production against Portland State, Williams set a career-high for minutes played, and matched her season total for goals and assists from her one season at Oklahoma State.

Return of Rintoul
• Rilyn Rintoul made a success return to the pitch following a 2024 season derailed by a season-ending knee injury suffered at Portland State on Aug. 22, 2024.
• Against Oral Roberts in the season-opener on Aug. 14, Rintoul scored the game-winning goal in the 61st minute. The tally was her first career goal.
