MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (5-3-2, 0-2-1 Big 12) will begin a three-match road trip to open the month of October, as the Wildcats face Kansas (7-2-2, 1-2-0) in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown on Thursday at 6 p.m., in Lawrence. The Wildcats continue on to Orlando, Florida, to face UCF (7-2-1, 1-1-1) on Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT).

• This will be K-State's sixth visit to Lawrence, while the Wildcats will make its first trip to Orlando.
• Both matches can be seen live on ESPN+. Thursday's broadcast team will be Josh Klingler (play-by-play) and Sarah Gonzalez (analyst), while Sunday's team will be Ryan Davis (play-by-play), Jade Barkett (analyst) and Marlena Dietrich (sideline).

Last Time Out
• The Wildcats started the home portion of its Big 12 schedule last weekend but suffered its first consecutive losses of the season.
• On Thursday, K-State faced its first ranked opponent of the season and the first in the Colleen Corbin era as the Wildcats hosted 10th-ranked TCU. The Wildcats kept the Horned Frogs off the scoreboard for 82 minutes before surrendering a goal and falling 1-0.
• On Sunday, the Wildcats held another opponent without a first half goal as K-State blanked Baylor for the opening 45 minutes. The Bears would score three goals in the second half, the most allowed by the Wildcats this season, to collect a 3-0 win.
• For the season, K-State has not allowed a first half goal this season. In total this season, the Wildcats own 16 shutout halves of soccer.
• The Wildcats have been held without a goal for 305:47 of game action, as the team last scored early in the second half against Colorado College on Sept. 11.

Corbin In First Year at K-State
• On December 5, 2024, K-State announced the second head coach in program history as Colleen Corbin was selected to guide the program. She is the first female head coach in in K-State soccer history.
• Corbin is in her fourth season as a head coach, as she was the head coach at Wyoming from 2021-23. She owns a career mark of 27-27-13 (.500), including a 5-3-2 (.600) record at K-State.
• A 2012 graduate of Oregon State where she was a highly decorated goalkeeper, Corbin came to the Little Apple after a stint in 2024 as the associate head coach at Saint Louis.

• With its fourth non-conference winning record in program history and first since 2021, K-State has established numerous school records. Below is a listing of records set to date:

K-State Posts Blank Score Sheets
• K-State has registered six shutouts this season, setting four of school records in the process.
• With its six shutouts this season, the Wildcats have tied the school record for shutouts in a season (2018 & 2021).
• For the season, K-State has 16 shutout halves and are allowing 0.70 goals per game which ranks 12th in the nation and tied for second in the Big 12.
• To open the 2025 season, the Wildcats carded a school record for consecutive shutouts - five - by blanking Oral Roberts, Portland State, South Dakota, UMass Lowell and Harvard. The final number of consecutive shutout minutes was 504:07, with the first goal allowed on the season coming at 54:07 of the second half at Nebraska on Sept. 7, the sixth match of the season. 
• K-State set the school records for consecutive shutout minutes in program history, consecutive shutout halves (11), consecutive shutout wins (4) and consecutive games with a shutout (5).
• In its 10 seasons of action, the Wildcats have registered 49 shutouts. Kansas State owns an all-time record of 34-0-15 in games allowing zero goals. 

Shot Prevention is Goal Prevention
• K-State has prevented opponent shots on goal at the halfway mark of the season. 
• This season, the Wildcats have limited opponents to 4.2 shots on goal per game and a .429 shots on goal percentage while surrendering seven goals. The Wildcats allowed only three goals in non-conference play, the fewest allowed by K-State in non-conference games in program history.
• Against Portland State on Aug. 17, the Wildcats limited the Vikings to one shot on goal on just three total attempts. The three total shots allowed were the fewest by a K-State foe since Aug. 17, 2023 at Green Bay.
• The lowest shots on goal percentage allowed by K-State is .360 in the 2023 season.
• K-State allowed the fewest shots on goal per game in 2022 of 5.5 per match.

Better Late than Never for K-State
• During its 10 seasons of action, K-State has scored 87 of its 151 total goals in the second half or later of matches (57.6 percent).
• This season, K-State has scored nine goals of its 13 goals in the second half. The latest goal of the 2025 season for the Wildcats came from Gabby DeMers at 85:03.
• The Wildcats have scored 14 goals in the 85th minute or later in the history of the program. Of those 14 goals, four were game-winning goals (Brookelynn Entz, Colorado State, Sept. 17, 2017 [ot]; Adah Anderson, vs. North Alabama, Aug. 29, 2021; Caylee Thornhill, at Kansas, Sept. 30, 2021 [ot]; Riley Baker, at Baylor, Oct. 9, 2022) and two were game-tying goals (Aliyah El-Naggar, at Missouri, March 28, 2021; Laramie Hall, at Creighton, Sept. 2, 2016).
