MANHATTAN, Kansas - K-State (3-3-1) begins its 2024 Big 12 Conference schedule in Week 5, as the Wildcats host (19) Colorado (6-1-0) at Buser Family Park on Thursday at 7 p.m.

• Thursday's match can be seen live on ESPN+, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play), Oscar Montenegro (analyst) and Sophie Smith (sideline) will have the call.

Last Time Out
• K-State ended its non-conference slate in Week 4, as the Wildcats carded a draw and loss.
• At Arkansas State on Thursday, the Wildcats and Red Wolves played to a 0-0 draw in hot and humid conditions in the afternoon match. This was K-State's second straight shutout.
• Junior goalkeeper Murphy Sheaff collected her third shutout of the 2024 season and remained in fourth in school history for career shutouts (7).
• At seventh-ranked Memphis on Sunday morning, the Wildcats kept the Tigers scoreless in the first 83 minutes before the Memphis offense broke threw with two goals in the final six minutes. 
• K-State saw its season-high shutout stretch end at 285:48, spanning the end of the Green Bay match on Aug. 29 to Sunday's match on Sept. 8.

At a Glance: Colorado
• (19) Colorado (6-1-0) extended its winning streak to five with a 2-0 win in Boulder over Weber State on Sunday afternoon. The lone loss for Colorado came on Aug. 18, at home against then-eighth-ranked North Carolina, 3-2.
• The Buffaloes are led on the sideline by 13th-year head coach Danny Sanchez. During his time in Boulder, Sanchez has steered the squad to a 139-82-34 record.
• Colorado is led in scoring this season by fifth-year forward Shyra James with five goals and 11 points.
• In between the pipes, the Buffaloes have been led by junior and Oklahoma State transfer Jordan Nytes. The product of Aurora, Colorado, owns five shutouts and a 6-1-0 record. She has tallied 35 saves with a .921 save percentage.

K-State vs. Ranked Foes
• Kansas State has played 23 matches in its brief history against United Soccer Coaches ranked opponents. 
• The Wildcats are 0-20-3 against ranked opponents. K-State secured its first road draw at a ranked opponent, registering a 0-0 draw at 18th-ranked Northwestern on Aug. 20, 2023. The road draw snapped a nine-match road losing streak to ranked foes.
• Kansas State has played four ranked opponents in a season twice (2018 and 2019).

Shot Prevention is Goal Prevention
• K-State has continued to prevent opponent shots on goal. This season, the Wildcats have limited opponents to 5.4 shots on goal and a .418 shots on goal percentage.
• In the 2023 season, the Wildcats limited its foes to 6.0 shots on goal per game and a shots on goal percentage of .360.
• The shots on goal percentage of .360 was the lowest in a season allowed in program history, surpassing the previous best of .405 in 2017.
• K-State allowed the second fewest shots on goal per game in program history, trailing the 5.5 effort in the 2022 season.

K-State Posts Blank Scoresheets
• K-State logged three shutouts in its non-conference slate during the 2024 season.
• The Wildcats kept Portland State scoreless in a 2-0 road win on Aug. 22 and the following week carded a home 3-0 shutout win against South Dakota on Sept. 1. K-State recorded a 0-0 draw at Arkansas State on Sept. 5, marking consecutive shutouts for the first time this season.
• K-State recorded a season-best 285:48 stretch of shutout soccer, dating from Aug. 29 to Sept. 8.
• The Wildcats registered an historic run of holding opponents off the scoreboard early in the 2023 season.
• K-State registered three consecutive shutouts for the third time in program history and the first time since the 2021 season. In total the Wildcats held its foes scoreless for a school record 416:44 of game action, which was the final 80:17 of play against Green Bay and the next three and a half matches, ending in the second half at Vanderbilt on Aug. 31.
• In its nine seasons of action, the Wildcats have registered 42 shutouts. Kansas State owns an all-time record of 30-0-12 in games allowing zero goals.
• Of the 42 shutouts in program history, three goalkeepers own 29 of them. Miranda Larkin and Alaina Werremeyer own the school record for career shutouts with 10, while Malsy owns nine.

Better Late than Never for K-State
• During its nine seasons of action, K-State has scored 77 of its 133 total goals in the second half or later of matches (57.9 percent).
• This season, K-State has scored eight of its 12 goals in the second half. Of the eight second half goals, six have been scored between the 61st and 90th minutes.
• Ryann Reynolds has scored two of her four goals this season in the second half.
• The Wildcats have scored 13 goals in the 85th minute or later in the history of the program. Of those 13 goals, four were game-winning goals (Brookelynn Entz, Colorado State, Sept. 17, 2017 [ot]; Adah Anderson, vs. North Alabama, Aug. 29, 2021; Caylee Thornhill, at Kansas, Sept. 30, 2021 [ot]; Riley Baker, at Baylor, Oct. 9, 2022) and two were game-tying goals (Aliyah El-Naggar, at Missouri, March 28, 2021; Laramie Hall, at Creighton, Sept. 2, 2016).
