Selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 13th round (398th overall) of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Olathe Northwest HS: Lettered four seasons for the Ravens under head coach Jay Novacek and Rick Setter... Earned first team all-state honors in 2010, while he was a second-team pick in both 2009 and 2011... Joined fellow K-State freshman Kyle Speer as the only two sophomores on the coaches' all-state team in 2009... Held a career .495 batting average, including a school-record .510 mark as a sophomore... Also holds the school marks in slugging percentage (.720), on-base percentage, doubles and triples... Led team to the state championship in 2009... Prepped at same high school as former Wildcat and seventh-round draft pick Nate Tenbrink.
