Sophomore (2012): The Big 12 regular-season batting champion with a .378 average, earning First Team American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region and Second Team All-Big 12 honors... Ranked second in the league with a .377 overall batting average... Registered 15 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 47 RBI to go along with 31 walks and 16 stolen bases... Finished third in the conference in total bases (127) and slugging percentage (.577), fourth in hits (83), fifth in triples and ninth in runs scored (49) and home runs... Also led the league in walks during Big 12 play with 16... Paced the team in multi-hit games (27) and multi-RBI games (12), marks that ranked third and ninth in the Big 12, respectively... Was second on the team with 18 two-out RBI... Held a team-best 11-game hitting streak from April 28 to May 18, hitting .500 (21-of-42) during that stretch... Tied his career high of four hits on two occasions - at San Diego State on Feb. 25 and against Sacred Heart on April 7... Freshman (2011):
Had a stellar rookie campaign, earning Freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball, while he was named a Second Team All-Big 12 performer and earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman team... Was the first Wildcat freshman named either first- or second-team all-conference since Andy Replogle in 1973... Played in 50 games with 48 starts, hitting .307 with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 40 RBI... Also went 13-for-16 on the base paths... Tied for eighth in the Big 12 and was second on the team in home runs... Also ranked sixth in the league slugging percentage (.534)... Hit .333 (28-for-84) against Big 12 competition to rank 11th in the league, while he was sixth in Big 12 only RBI (20) and slugging percentage (.571), and tied for seventh in Big 12 only stolen bases (6)... Ranked third on the team with 16 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games... Also had 16 two-out RBI to rank third on the squad... Jerome HS: Lettered for the Celtics under head coach Chris Huesman... Named the Ohio Division I Player of the Year in 2010 as he led his team to a 23-7 record and a sectional championship... Rated the 13th-best player in the state of Ohio by Perfect Game Crosschecker, was the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year, the Division I Central District Player of the Year, earned first team all-state honors from the Columbus Dispatch and was a 2010 Under Armour Preseason All-American... Hit .574 (58-for-101) as a senior with 15 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 26 RBI... Broke the single-season school records for batting average (previously held by current Wildcat and brother Jason King at .477), hits, runs scored (41), doubles, on-base percentage (.632) and slugging percentage (.891)... Also earned first team all-conference and first team all-district honors as a sophomore and junior.

Personal: Jared Franklin King was born October 12, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio... Son of Jeff and the late Susan King... Older brother, Jason, was a three-year letterwinner at K-State and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 MLB Draft by Detroit... Majoring in business administration.
